No thanks, I'll take Wall(they'd be more apt to trade him for less because of his contract). A lightning fast PG with dishing to AD and LBJ with perimeter shooters! equals MONEY$$$$$$$$

Wall doesn't fit. Beal would fit perfectly with how the Lakers play and provide exactly what they need. More importantly, he fits very well with Lebron. He's also younger than Wall.

worth is sujective, 40m is a small price to pay for a title or 2 and Wall, AD, and James would be just that!

I don't think Lakers can get Wall and AD because of Wall's ridiculous contract. They'd actually have a better shot at fitting KD and AD (which would be the dream scenario and isn't happening).

Why take Beal? Why would wall not fit? In the west Wall has the size speed and athleticism to play with and guard any guard!

We have room for 3 max deals! We have what 21m in Rondo and KCP alone? There are ways to make it work. Personally I really like Wall, I prefer a pass first, driving, defending PG that is lightning quick!

Wall
Bledsoe
Elfrid Payton
Etc etc

Wall is not pass first and he's a big part of the chemistry issues in Washington.

Even if the Lakers can fit him under the cap, Wall doesn't fit what the Lakers are doing.

Wall's extension has him making $38 million next year and increases every year until he hits $47 million. In short, he'll be making more than Lebron.

If they are going after a Wizards guard, it should be Beal, not Wall.

You are on point with this. I would love Beal on the Lakers. Wall would not be a good fit on this team.

I would absolutely love Wall on this team and think he'd be day and nignt better than Ball and he's one of the best PGs in the league!

Lakers are stupid if they give up any picks in a deal for Ariza. We aren't winning a championship this year. Getting Ariza isn't going to change anything. If they can do a deal by just shipping out KCP, fine. But any draft picks or younger players would be a total waste and bad management. You're going to need those assets to trade for star players later on.

Ariza is an expiring contract. Nothing bad about it. It will not hurt us at all in free agency.

I'm not talking about free agency. I'm talking about giving up draft picks in a deal to get him. Those have value and are often the extra sweenters you have to throw in to get bigger stars in trades. If you want to trade for Anthony Davis, Bradley Beal, whoever else like that, you shouldn't be wasting assets on someone like Trevor Ariza. He's a fine player, but he will not help this team achieve anything of value this season. The team is capable of making the playoffs without him. They aren't winning in the playoffs this year with him. So there's really no point to it. Keep your assets.

I disagree. He gives us outside shooting and defense. He will help this team and improve our playoff position. I agree I would not give up say a #1 pick, but I would give up second round picks and KCP in a second.

On Ariza, I'd give up a 2nd round pick for him, especially if it can be one that doesn't convey for a couple of years. At that point, it's likely a late 2nd rounder which is virtually worthless.

No way I'm giving up a 1st or more than 1 second rounder. Really, the only reason to trade for him, imo, is to set things up to sign him next season at a more reasonable contract to help with a potential finals run if they land another big time FA.

But there's no reason for the Lakers to give up more than KCP and a 2nd (preferably just KCP though) because they can always look to sign him in the summer without giving up any assets.

I did read somewhere it's possible the Lakers trade for AD and then sign KD as a FA.....it was The Athletic if I remember correctly.

That trio and some vets plus whatever youngsters we keep=contender.....
