Broncos Make the Playoffs

Shooting my shot ... but I don't think it's all that bold. Denver rips off at least 5 wins over their final 6 games, finishing with a 9-7 record and the 6th seed.

Calling wins over Cincy, Cleveland, San Fran, and Oakland. I'll call for the 10th win over either Pittsburgh this Sunday or Chargers in Week 17. Hell, they could win both games and run the table for the remainder of the season. Both of these games are at home.

The Chargers will have their typical, late season meltdown, but should be good enough to hang on for a playoff spot. I say that thinking there's no way Cincy, Miami, Indy, and Tennessee hang around long enough. Indy, maybe... but Tennessee is in trouble with another Mariotta injury. The Titans also looked very flat a week after beat the Pats.

I actually like a Week 17 game, in prime time ... Chargers at Broncos, to determine the final seeding for the AFC playoff bracket.

The next 6 games are where Case makes his money.

Them's some bold predictions. I'm not there yet but if they beat the Steelers this weekend and look good doing it, I might slowly come around to the idea.

I think they make 8-8 or better for the season, but I am not sure about making the playoffs. They have to move ahead of 5 teams, and the Ravens hold the tie breaker.

I have said this team is on the verge of being really good. There was a lot of good in many of their losses, and there was a lot of bad in the win on Sunday. I believe they are turning the corner and starting to believe. Beat the Steelers this weekend and the confidence will be higher than it has been in a couple years.

At this point I don't really care what happens, as long as at the end of the season we gut the coaching staff.

We'll wash each other's backs

That's ballsy. Not impossible, however.

Y'all might be better than the slop trying for the 6th seed so just a football fan, I'd almost prefer it if y'all got in. Believe it or not, Denver is 7th in Weighted DVOA still. Still behind the Chargers (6th) and Chiefs (1st) but Denver is a good sleeper to make a run right now.

It would be nice to have one of those magical runs - after the team has been pronounced dead in more ways than one - and hit the playoffs as a hot team. I'd volunteer to write the book on that season, but reliving the first 9 games would be gut wrenching (so the book will cost a lot).

Now 1 game out of the 6-seed. Beating Pittsburgh is a huge boost of confidence.

So if we are looking at the possibilities of making the playoffs we need to look at where the playoffs sit right now.
Teams in the playoffs as of right now:
1. Kansas City Chiefs (9-2)

We are too far out to look at winning the division. Lets look at the schedules of the 2 wildcards and the teams in the hunt.

Los Angeles Chargers:
At Steelers - L
Vs Bengals - W
At Chiefs - L
Vs Ravens - W
At Broncos - L

The Chargers play all teams in the playoffs or in the hunt for the playoffs. Though schedule. I would say the end up 10-6 at worst. This should secure them a Wild Card game.

Baltimore Ravens:
At Falcons - L
At Chiefs - L
Vs Buccaneers - W
At Chargers - L
Vs Browns - W

Baltimore should win 2 of these games. I think the loose to Falcons, Chiefs, and Chargers. This means they finish at 8-8.

Indianapolis Colts:
At Jaguars - W
At Texans - L
Vs Cowboys - L
Vs Giants - W
At Titans - W

The Colts are hot but I think they lose to Texans and Cowboys. This will give them a final record of 9-7.

Tennessee Titans:
At Texans - L
Vs Jets - W
Vs Jaguars - W
At Giants - L
Vs Redskins - W
Vs Colts - W

I believe the Titans lose to the Texans, Giants, and Colts giving them a final record 8-8.

Miami Dolphins:
Vs Bills - W
Vs Patriots - L
At Vikings - L
Vs Jaguars - W
At Bills - L

The Dolphins lose to the Patriots and Vikings with a chance to lose one to the Bills. The Bills are playing better. Final record of 7-9.

Cincinnati Bengals:
Vs Broncos - L
At Chargers - L
Vs Raiders - W
At Browns - W
At Steelers - L

Bengals Play 3 games against playoff teams or contenders, and I think they lose all 3 to finish 7-9.

Denver Broncos:
At Bengals - W
At 49ers - W
Vs Browns - W

Vs Chargers - W

I think the Broncos run the table to the Chargers game. This will be a huge game for Denver and being at home I believe they win bringing there final record to 10-6 and the 5 seed.

Yes my prediction for the Broncos might be a bit of homerism at its finest, but if you think about the Broncos going into that final game with a 6 game win streak there will be confidence, and swagger. Add in a stadium that will be electric there is a reasonable chance that they come out of that game with a win and a playoff birth

Wouldn't they have to win every game to get to 10?

This certainly looks do able now after two impressive victories.

I didn't realize your schedule was so light to finish out the season.

I think you go 9-7 with a loss to the Chargers. Could definitely get you in. I don't see why you don't win the other 4... but the NFL can be weird. Cleveland may actually be the toughest game. lol

You guys could be 9-6 heading into that LAC game and maybe even have the 6th seed locked up? Or... you could need it but LAC is locked into the #5 seed and rests some guys.

Either way - there's life now and playoff talk is valid

The way the Browns are playing I agree with the comments they could be one of the tougher remaining games. If they get the right coach this off season we may be on the brink of a changing of the guard in the AFC North.
