And if the Chiefs go down to score with 1 minute left like they have all year what then? Goff still “proven”?

You’re proven when you win big games. He had his moments last night for sure but the defense gets the game ball last night. It’s obvious
Simple Answer is Yes!
He did everything he was supposed to do. When did he fail in a game where he had to perform? He performed. he didnt falter. So if the Mahomes went back down & scored on the Rams defense what are you saying? All of a sudden Goff is now unproven? (because he was on the sidelines)

Who says low scoring, shitty games....are good games? You and I see differently as to what a great game is. I think games filled with turnovers and penalties severely curtail the definition of a great game.
Last night was a great game. If you disagree, then you will be in the vast minority which is fine.

Penalties- I get it.
Turnovers - not so much.

Did not say he was unproven. I said I wasn’t totally sold yet. Goodness it’s like I’ve offended people by this statement. You all will see. As we get into the playoffs and he’s up against good defenses.

This is a bit rich coming from a team fresh off of giving up a bajillion points to Nick Foles and the Eagles in the SB

They didn't give up 51...........AND the eagles played something that the Chiefs have no ceoncept of............................D-E-F-E-N-S-E . They also got beat by the Patriots because they couldn't play it against them.........

Eric Berry is not going to change the other 10 guys who can't play defense.

I would be a bit careful about implying the Chiefs are talent decrepit... they're bad up the middle. They've been good at CB and as a passrush; the lead the league in sacks. Pass D is king in the NFL, yards are not. Add an all-pro safety and it could be very different.

Keep spinning. (The D didn't give up 50+ really either, the O turned it over 5 times including two that went for defensive TD's)

I certainly didn't equate low scoring with quality of play. I've already stated that the exact opposite also rings true - when the game was overly defensive in the mid-late 70's. The fact of the matter is, this era severely nullifies defenses and greatly aids the passing game...and eventually it just bores me. Had the game been at least more cleanly played, with simply great passing beating decent coverage, it would've greatly improved the situation.

Yet, even with the rules favoring the offense, DBs still get handsy and grab/hold/interfere. Same can be said of the offensive line of course, as we all know there is offensive holding on every play. They ought to give offensive lineman required gloves that can't clasp. (Although I don't like this assumption that if a defensive player is thrown to the ground, it's automatically holding. A large part of playing OL is to use the defensive player's momentum against them if possible.) I'm really not a fan of the pick/rub plays; the league should come down on those next year. Eliminate this "within 1 yard of the L.O.S." allowance that gets stretched and just make it interference.

Ok enough of the kool aid. Was he good? Yes. Is he young? Yes. But he also missed a few open passes badly. Rams also get blasted without a lot of Chief flags early and 2 defensive TDs. At home

Goff did lead a comeback late in Q4 and our defense held them off.

Defense gets the game ball and they were the reason we won. McVay forgot about Gurley and went Mike Martz late giving KC more than 1 minute left.

A lot of maturing needed and that takes time. I’d rather have Mahomes than Goff all day

I'm not giving the defense that much credit. Allowing 44 points isn't nullified by 5 turnovers and 14 points scored directly by the defense. Think about that, the Rams stopped two drives with turnovers for immediate points, 2 late drives with INTs, and another drive with a strip sack that eventually became a TD by the offense and STILL allowed 51 pts. 480 yards passing. 100 yards rushing at 5 yards/carry. Only 3 punts.

2 defensive TDs and we held them
With a minute left. Without the TDs it’s not really that close

....because the defense allowed 44 pts.

Even with the amount of penalties we were getting called for us and the defensive touchdowns, the Chiefs we’re still in the game and at times up a bit.

I think you’re underestimating how good the Chiefs offense is and how big the stops were that we had late in the fourth quarter on defense.

Defense came up really huge in that game many times.

Rams offense was stopped 5 times (4 punts, 1 TO). Chiefs were stopped 8 times (5 TOs, 3 punts). I would say the Rams offense was a bigger part, with a few key plays by the defense. It's really tough to rep a defense that made 8 stops all day vs 7 scoring drives. This Rams defense has me worried.

i wonder if any team this season has stopped chiefs drives more than they've allowed scoring drives in any game ? even last week when the chiefs only scored 26 pts, their lowest pt total of the year, 5 of their 10 drives were scoring drives .....

Chiefs defense isn’t good. You can stat me all day but I know what I saw. We’ll see what happens down the road

Do you think the Rams offense is more potent the Chiefs? I don’t. If that game is in KC and we get zero defensive touchdowns it’s a blowout.

Maybe the Cards? @ Denver? Those are two games they were without Watkins (also both of them are good on D) so it's a lot less of a prayer to slow down the Chiefs.

The Chiefs “still” scored 2.9 per drive IIRC, which is pretty fuckin' nuts considering they were stopped 8 different times; albeit the last two were sorta kinda desperation.

Just got to tip your hat to the Rams DL for tipping the balance just enough. Coin flip type game.

Going to agree to disagree, has anybody have had a better road record than the Rams the last two years? Rams road record is 11-2, Rams are also 4-0 in primetime games the last two seasons. So take away those defensive touchdowns, than your implying the offense can't score with good field position caused by a turnover or your implying the Rams can't force turnovers.

Yet, you said the Rams were bringing the pressure to Mahomes and forcing him to make mistakes. So that can't happen on the road, so the crowd is going neutralize Aaron Donald.
