I think the committee has nailed it ever since its inception for five years straight now. With the four team playoff this is so much better than what we had for so many years. It’s about perfect.

Kansas but 40 on OU, we should have dropped.

No defense for sure, but with that explosive offense and considering the schedule, I don’t think you can slot the teams behind them in front of them right now. I give them a better than 50% chance to beat LSU, Wazzu, and UCF on a neutral field with that offense at this point.

Not sure, but you have a couple in front of you that don't have that many.

Hard to knock Notre Dame's schedule on any given year. I would say this was a down year in terms of the quality of the teams played...but this is a down year for the quality of college football in general.

Notre Dame has played 4 ranked teams and beaten teams that has beaten 3 ranked teams.

Clemson has beaten 2 ranked teams and beaten teams that have 3 ranked wins

Alabama has beaten 3 ranked teams and their opponents have beaten another 6 ranked teams

Michigan has beaten 2 ranked teams and their opponents have beaten 3 ranked teams

Washington State not getting a lot of respect...

yet.

If the Cougars win the Apple Cup, then they should rise one or two spots.

4 Michigan 10-1
5 Georgia 10-1
6 Oklahoma 10-1
7 LSU 9-2
8 Washington State 10-1
9 UCF 10-0
10 Ohio State 10-1

These are PRETTY GOOD rankings.

I would rank the same teams in the top 10, only in a different order.

For the first three, it doesn't really matter the order. Alabama, Clemson, and ND all won 11/11 games and played a quality schedule.

#4 and #5 should be switched. Georgia's schedule is BETTER than Michigan. Think about it: Georgia beat 6-4 South Carolina, 7-4 Missouri, 8-3 Florida, and 8-3 Kentucky all on the road. On top of that you have wins against 7-4 Auburn at home and Middle Tennessee. That is 7 wins. 6 if you discount Middle Tennessee. Now we go to Michigan. They have wins against 7-4 Northwestern (on the road), 7-4 Wisconsin, and 8-3 Penn State. Michigan State and Western Michigan are at 6-5. That comes to 5 total, 3 if you take out WMU and MSU.

Oklahoma should be at #6. Yes, the defense is questionable. Yes, they have won sloppy games. But they still play a good schedule and only lost by 8 points against Texas.

Washington State is slightly overrated by the committee. Their SOS is currently in the mid-.400 range and they lost to 5-6 USC.

Other than that, I don't have much of a complaint. These are the correct top 10 teams, just the order I have some quibbles about. But as of today, it's pretty irrelevant. Alabama still needs to beat Auburn and Georgia to secure a top 4 seed. Clemson needs to beat South Carolina and Pitt. Notre Dame needs to beat USC. Michigan needs to beat Ohio State and then Northwestern. Georgia needs to beat Tech and Bama. Oklahoma can have an argument if they beat WV and whoever they play in the CC game.

LSU, Wash State, UCF, and OSU needs to win out and hope the teams at the top faulter big time.

Actually they are OVERRATED. Just look at their schedule. It's not very good. According to Colley Matrix and Anderson & Hester, their SOS is in the mid-.400 range.

Beating Washington and Utah will definitely help their questionable SOS, but they still haven't played a quality schedule and have that loss to USC.

Boise,

I agree with you. The sixth ranking is very fitting.

Coming up they have West Virginia and probably Texas. If they win those games, it should be a big resume builder.
