i honestly hadnt watched a single race since the summer.....least ive followed the season in probably 20 years

I maybe watched 200 laps this year, their are 10 good drivers and the rest are rich daddy pay to play kids. And then this format is just bullshit.

This format needs to go. Harvick won the most races in a season in his career, had tied for the most wins, and this is how he finishes. Five years ago, Truex and Logano would not even have a shot at the top four. Nascar is reeling from the losses of prime Tony, prime Jimmie, prime Gordon, prime Kenseth. That's why you get Truex in back to back final fours.

What sucks is Harvick's career was held back because he could have done then what he's doing now. He was the one guy JJ needed to worry about with even equipment. The playoff needs to go, go back to the basic 2004 chase. That was interesting, but it was unpolular because the favorite drivers weren't benefitting. The obsession with wins has hurt this sport. I hardly watch this thing now.

Widdle rich boy Logano wins it. Passes Truex and takes the championship. This format has to go and now that Nascar has gotten rid of a complete idiot in Brian France Jr., maybe they'll wise up and return to some of their retro approaches that made the sport great in its heyday just a decade or two ago. This article chronicles the known driver movements. Should be interesting to see if the sport is revived or they close the coffin lid and throw dirt on it.

I don't think I watched even 50 laps all season and just read the results well after the races were finished. I was more interested in the truck series results than the Cup Series. The sport is definitely bleeding viewers every year (around 10% from last year give or take from what I saw earlier in the year).
They have to do something to get fans back or it's just going to get worse and worse, especially when more of the old school drivers like Johnson and Harvick decide to retire.

FWIW, Kyle Busch actually would have won the championship this year under the old pre-2004 (and rightful) way. Harvick would have been 2nd.

I hope they go back to the days that each manufacturer is permitted to bring their own specific products to the track including different bodies. Make the sport as manufacturer-intensive and see which one dominates owr wins like the good ole' days. I guarantee you, fans will come back just to see a Ford beat a Chevy and a Toyota or any combination thereof. Also,Call Dodge and get them back in and open the sport up to more auto manufacturers as well as tire manufactures. That will bring fans back!!

I dont care about Championships every since they went to the gimmick for entertainment reasons. Now it is just a contest winner vs. true Champion.
Obviously if a driver you like wins it you will be happy for them, but any real race fan knows this isnt a championship anymore.
The true Champions are the ones that did the best for the whole year.

Couldn't agree more. You could do fantastic for 35 races and embarrass everyone. Then when the points reset for the final race and something happens and you finish say 34th, you don't get the title because someone else had one good race when you were better than them the whole year.
