The finale is here and since we already know who the actual champion is in the racecar, all that is left is to determine who takes this thread's championship. Should be an interesting final race as Red Bull has become almost equal with the Mercs and has def become equals with the Ferraris. Also, would like to see Haas take another step by putting one of their drivers in the top 6. Should be a fun race this week-end.

Bottas looks hellbent on not finishing the year without a win as he gets past Verstappen, Ricciardo, and Hamilton in Practice 1.

What I find interesting about the above list is Haas with Grosjean is fourth in the fast laps turned in practice. Big improvement at the end of this year compared to the beginning of the year.

Besides the opening race at Australia, remember that race they were better than Red Bull before a pit disaster ruined it. Grosjean qualified P7, hopefully he finishes there!

Love how good Red Bull seemed in "practice".

Lewis seems in a class of his own. Hard to see him losing of his own volition.

Hamilton
Bottas
Vettel
Verstappen

Hamilton wins the final race in dominating fashion and takes home his fifth championship that was decided earlier in the year. Vettel took second, followed by Verstappen, and Ricciardo who has driven his last race for Red Bull. Bottas finished fifth and Raikkonen did not finish the race as he moves on from the Ferraris. Haas with Grosjean finished ninth in a nother points paying position and things are looking up for that team for next year.

Congrats on the new champion here on this thread! Even with a major hiccup, BSF takes his first championship!!! Hank almost pulled out a position change but came-up two points short. Solid performance by 43 to take third. Well done everyone. I enjoyed another F-1 season in the competition and I'll be back next year seeking my fifth championship!! See everyone in March and get the word out for future contestants!! Enjoy your holiday season!!! Bye-bye!!

Thank you sir, and thank you for putting this competition together

I finally ended your streak! We all were very competitive this year and anything could have led to a different champion. I won two competitions on the college football board too, so appears 2018 was my year!

Looking forward to next year's competition with you folks when F1 returns in March!

You are welcome and you are a formidible opponent. I'll be gunning for you next season if you come back. I won the IRL championship this year again for my fourth straight. So, I'll see you then.

What a great season both in real life and here :)

Congrats BSF!

I actually felt kinda sad at the end today. I never was what you would call an Alonso fan, and in fact often laughed at his choices. I mean leaving Ferrari to go to McLaren? Ooof. But you can't deny a legend when you see one. Plus the fact that only 2 teams will have the same driver lineup AND only 4 drivers that drove in 2010 season will be driving in 2019 (Vettel, Hamilton, Hulkenberg and Kubica - Raikkonen and Grosjean were not in F1 in 2010).

I truly hope that Red Bull's late season performance means that Renault have the engine figured out and Danny Ric and Hulk can make it a 4 way battle.

And I feel awful for Valterri. Really wanted him to win one.

Thank you sir, as tempting as it is to walk away as a champion I simply cannot resist another round.

Thank you sir,

Agreed completely on Alonso, he was such a great driver it's unfortunate he got stuck with a lot of lesser performing cars because he was definitely one of the best of all time and it is sad to see him go.

I'd really like to see the rest of the pack to catch up a bit, it's unrealistic to think the rest of the pack could beat the top cars on a week to week basis but I'd at least like to see a midfield strong enough to hold off a top car instead of where a Mercedes, Ferrari or Red Bull could start from the pitlane and be 6th within 5 laps

I think I was the last place finisher last year, so it can be done!

I'm never fussed and mussed about victory. I don't mount heads on my wall.

I've watched every F1 race since 1993 on TV. And I had an internet friend from Jolly Old who made me a bunch of DVDs which were of course Euro spec so I had to buy a universal cheapo DVD player for $80.... They go back a long way. Some are adapted from film...

So I always watch and may as well have a guess riding.

Even though I was sucking the brown tit this year, Lewis won, MB won. I won. I watched.

And yesterday was special. I finally purchased a large 4K unit and it was delivered and set up on US Turkey Day Eve.

So I had it for NFL and F1!!!
