But, yeah, I saw through the Helton hire from the start. It was just SC being cheap again and settling for a sub par coach. I wonder if Jeff Fisher would be interested in the job.

There are times he'll try to squeeze it in double coverage.A lot of that has to do with bad routes. SC has had WR's in the wrong spot on positional throws. Hell Helton had Wr's running into WR's after a bye week. If Helton focused more on practices,calling better plays, taking the points instead of going on 4th and....with a poor play call and less on catch phrases. Just look at the play calling in the red zone. Would also help if they stuck with the running game rather than air it out all the time. Ware is severely under used. The bulk of their issues this season have been on the coaches

Agreed. The athletes they have are too good to be performing this poorly.

His name was tossed around for nearly ever open decent job while he was at Boise State as well. To the point where he nearly banned the media from some events around the times when it was at its worst. He entirely fucking hates that shit because it encumbers recruiting efforts.

Why wouldn't media sympathetic to USC's cause stir up shit in the state where UW gets a huge chunk of their top players?

Point? Literally nothing UW could offer more than USC besides firing a coach. USC doesn’t fire coaches, they just don’t pay for their flight on the way home and they get the hint.
