This is the most intriguing game of the day to me.

Do the bears make a statement? Does Cousins beat a winning team? Which D shows up? Which team asserts themselves in the division?

What I cant put my finger on is what is the X factor for the game?

Is it Trubs? Is it a healthy dalvin cook? Is it the bears front 7? Or is it the bears running game getting on track? None of the above?

Anyone with thougts?

Never put your money on the Vikes in a prime time game...especially if they're on the road.

Vikes are coming off a bye and should be ready as it is a game for 1st place in the division.

Shocking to me that Vegas has the Vikes as dogs.

Mitch's next good game against a good defense will be his first in his career. I doubt it happens tonight.

Bears defense is going to need to carry them and turn the Vikes over a lot to have a chance. The good news is that they have a defense to do just that and the Vikes have an offense that is susceptible to it.

But I just don't see it happening off the bye.

Vikes 24 Bears 13.

Well, technically he played well enough to win against the Patriots and GB too.

Can't really fault Mitch for any of the Bears' 3 losses.
no, agreed. I was just looking at the D units like the other poster stated, GB has looked awful. And NE lit up lately. BUt at the time the jets were playing very well, and actualyl the dolphins D was as well

This game is for the division, and that’s only slightly hyperbolic. The Vikings have been the most injured team in the nfl this year, but are getting healthy. The bears are for real and the cold weather is tailored to the bears defensive style of play with the way they swipe at and strip the ball. The homer in me can’t look over this fact since Cousins is very susceptible to fumbling. Hmmmm......Bears win 21-17. Please Odin, prove me wrong.

Really?

The Bears literally didn't have a decent offensive drive the entire game until the 4th and they were down 2 scores.

They need the Bears D to set them up like that in this game to have a shot IMO. Which certainly is possible......just not highly likely IMO.

If the Bears offense had to play a 16 game season against the Bears defense, how many winning games does Mitch play?

The Bears defense is ready to be a perennial playoff team.....the offense and Mitch are a long ways from being ready for that IMO. The 5 minutes before kickoff tonight is going to be the Bears highwater mark for the season IMO. I think they struggle big time down the stretch as their schedule gets a lot more difficult and they will regress down to the team most of expected them to be this year.

You talking about the New England game?

Like I said, they were up 17-7, when Patterson took the kick back.

14 special teams points in a 7 point win. I'm no mathematician, but...

fwiw, they were down 2 scores for all of 4 minutes in that game, and 7 of those were off a blocked punt.

Time will tell.

Bears lose, and they are still having a good season. Minnesota loses and they are chumps with a 100 million dollar QB and a worse record than before him.

Until Trubisky puts up more even and consistent performances, questions about the offense will remain. They're not terrible, but they're eminently beatable until proven otherwise might be a better way to say it. The Bears are, believe it or not, 10th in DVOA. That tells a positive story insofar as the coaching and talent goes. The variance will scare people off until Trubisky calms the nerves.

Oh fosho, and I certainly get the doubt, but I think team's would be foolish to overlook or underestimate the Bears.

I like our chances tonight.

Most excited I've been about a Bears game in 5 years.

Just want to clarify as I oopsied in the post, the Bears are 10th in offensive DVOA. The Bears are currently 4th overall behind the Chiefs, Rams, and Chargers respectively.

Huge game. Winner will be in the driver's seat for the division.

Personally, I think the key factor in this one is the Vikings front seven being able to put pressure on trubisky. If they pressure him all night and make him uncomfortable the Vikes should be able to win this one. If trubisky is comfortable back there, the Bears will probably take it

A few months ago I thought no way in hell the Bears were ready for the Vikes. Now I am cautiously optimistic. Crazy times.

The highwater mark just got a lot higher. It’s looking to get even higher with games against the lions and giants on deck, while the Vikings play the packers and patriots.
