They were pretty decent last year. Figured K-State was gonna win by double digits against Denver. Down year for K-State or just a bad game?

They were above average last year. They finished 42nd in Kenpom last year and that was with making the elite 8 taken into account. I don't think they are a top 15 team this year. They returned everyone of significance, but even if they do improve, to improve from 42nd to top 15 is a tall order. I think I had them as a 5/6 seed in my preseason bracket so I think they somewhere between 20-25.

11/12 recap

I honestly don't know what that post from @BoiseStateFan27 was all about, but let's see if his Broncos screwed up again yesterday:

North Carolina over Stanford 90-72
Kansas State over Denver 64-56
Buffalo over Southern Illinois 62-53 (So Buffalo wins it's first game as a ranked team since... well, ever.)
Pittsburgh over Troy 84-75
USF over Austin Peay 74-70 in OT
Duquesne over Illinois-Chicago 89-88 in OT
Washington over San Diego 66-63
Minnesota over Utah 78-69

Oh, wait... Boise State's next game is Friday (against Jackson State). Honest mistake, @BoiseStateFan27. Won't happen again.

Oh yes that was about our screw up last Friday against Idaho State LOL

11/14 recap

After a couple of tense moments with my PC update, and @jonvi skewering me about "Talk Radio", I'm ready to recap yesterday's action:

Michigan over Villanova 73-46 (This is the biggest @$$-whipping that Villanova has received in a VERY long time)
Duke over Eastern Michigan 84-46
Indiana over Marquette 96-73
IUPUI over Boston College 76-69
(Whoopsie)
Radford upsets Notre Dame 63-60 (Whoopsie)
Nebraska over Seton Hall 80-57
Saint Mary's over New Mexico State 73-58
Seattle over Washington State 78-69 (Whoopsie)

And by the way, @jonvi, that Syracuse/UConn game does look intriguing today (that's why I made it the "Game of the Day"). But I am expecting the Orange to take care of UConn tonight.

The D will be fine ... SU is much taller, but SU still needs to controll the ball and I'm not sure they have a PG ready for the task yet. And SU must make shots in this game....same reason, to give the D a chance to get set. UConn is playing fast. I like what their new coach has done.

Oh, great. Not only did the Orange got caught by an improved UConn team, but today we now have to deal with #13 Oregon... who also lost last night. :tsk:
And that concludes my "2K Sports Empire Classic" recap! Now let's see how everyone else did:

UCF over CSU-Fullerton 68-52; will meet Saint Joseph's in semis
Western Kentucky over Valparaiso 83-71
West Virginia over Monmouth 71-53; will meet WKU in semis

Saturday, November 17th

Which would you rather do this Saturday? Watch Citadel get hanged, drawn, and quartered by Alabama in football... or watch these college basketball games?

Hall of Fame Tip-Off Tournament [From Uncasville, CT]:
Michigan vs. George Washington (12:00)
South Carolina vs. Providence (Around 2:30) [Game of the Day]

Islands of the Bahamas Showcase Semis [From Freeport, GB]:

Montana vs. Miami-Ohio (5:00)
Georgia Southern vs. Pepperdine (8:00)
Other big games:

New Mexico State @ New Mexico (6:00)
Saint Louis @ Seton Hall (8:00)

Hmmm... Actually, maybe we'd be better off watching Cincinnati vs. UCF later tonight. Don't worry, things will pick up again on Sunday!

Furman is a good mid-major this year. #139 on kenpom and that number is going to rise

Villanova looks like a bad high major right now. only November, so still time to turn it around
