I see no way to justify a top5 spot if other teams win out. Not on our schedule strength. Georgia in itself adds to the SoS, but it doesn't matter if you lose it. Maybe if we had a quality OOC win etc. We don't.
All legit. Bama may not deserve to be in if they lose. But, I still can't find four better teams than Bama even if they lose. And I've been told this is about the four "best" teams, not the four "most deserving" teams.

Have to prove you are the best, doesn't seem that complicated to me.

There is always the chance other teams will shit the bed.

If Notre Dame and Michigan both win out, Bama ain't getting in if they lose to Georgia.

If either Michigan or Notre Dame lose a game, but Bama loses to Georgia, then it gets interesting between Bama, Ohio State and Oklahoma/WVU.

In 2015, I still think we saw the best team beat up on Notre Dame in the Fiesta Bowl. Lost a flukey game that cost them a shot at the B1G championship and they got left out.

There's just too many 1 loss P5 teams this year.

Why is the hypo always about an undefeated ND. Right now there are only 3 undefeated P5 teams. ND is one of them. If Bama lost and only Clemson and ND win out, then you should be asking the other two one-loss teams in the top 4 that question.

I don't think if Bama loses the championship game they will
get in.

If they lose to Auburn and win the SEC title game they'll go in
In that scenario they would drop to a 4th seed, and play Clemson
in the semi's and ND would rematch with Mich.

If they lose the SEC title game to UGA...Clemson would be pair off
with UGA in the semis and ND-mich would rematch

Yeah, I guess you're right.
But the point is you called out Bama for scheduling the Citadel while fucking NWestern is gonna go to the Big championship game with, at best, a 4 loss team, and possibly a 5 loss team.
Seems you IN conference schedule is the joke dude.
Maybe. Except in non conference we have the #3 ranked team in the country.

A one lose Alabama gets in over any school because ESPN is in bed with the SEC.

Notre Dame consistently plays one of the toughest schedules in all of college football year in and year out.

This year they have 10 P5 schools on their schedule, including upwards to 3 teams that may well win their division or conference. (Michigan, Northwestern, Pittsburgh)

They go undefeated, they are in the CFP. Period.

I think they would. They're defending champs and have a reputation of one of the top schools in the country for football. They'd be in for sure.

Both a 12-1 Bama and 12-0 ND make it IMO. (If Bama loses a close one to UGA)

This all assumes Alabama gets past The Citadel.

Think about it. If Bama loses to UGA.....

1.Neither would be a conference champion.

2.Both would have 12 wins

3. Both would have 2 ranked wins.
( Possibly a 3rd for ND if Stanford wins out, Possible 3rd for Bama if Mizzou wins out)

4.Bama would have 1 more loss because of playing an extra game but would clearly have Eye Test/effiecency rankings.

So who would get in??

Thank you for making the argument for an expanded playoff.

My opinion:

An undefeated Notre Dame gets in. Any other team would have to be a Conference winner. Should Alabama lose to the Citadel and beat Aurburn and Georgia, they are in.

The committee will never leave out an undefeated team, if they're Notre Dame or a power conference champion. Never. It shouldn't even be a question. Notre Dame always plays a high SOS and never plays a single a FCS program.
