Well Khabib is getting to almost legendary status as a fighter. People will tune in to watch him continue his unbeaten streak. It won't be as necessary for him to have great mic skills if the UFC can market it properly. Khabib's soft spoken nature or even silence on the mic could be an advantage if they can sell him as some sort of absolute monster. He has the look of a killer. Use that.

I get what you're saying but it isn't the same. Top 7 PPV purchases all time either have Conor or Brock. And the only reason Lesnar doesn't have more is because he didn't fight more.

Well to be fair, Lesnar also brings in a different audience too, which helps contribute to his views. I get it, it's going to be a tougher sell for PPV for a guy who's not as boisterous as say Conor, but I feel the UFC hasn't really marketed guys correctly in the past.

For example I think they've done a terrible job with Woodley. Sure he's a pain in the ass for them, but you're killing opportunities to sell his fights out of spite in some cases. I also think they could do better with Max Holloway too and get his views up.

I think the biggest gripe I have with them about marketing is that the seem to only focus on whoever is at the top, without developing any following for some of the lower ranked guys. I mean if they did a once a week special or something showcasing some of the upcoming talent they have, division by division, that would generate a more interest of the causal fan. The casual fan wants to have someone to root for. They can't do that if they simply don't know who anyone is.

I watch pretty much every UFC card that's available, but I had very little background info on Dominick Reyes who just fought. Dude is a beast. But had I known, I might have been more invested in watching his fight.

Smart move. Use the leverage while he has it. UFC can't afford to lose him. Khabib could potentially be the biggest and most dominant UFC fighter of all time. Let him fight Ferguson and Diaz. Then after that you have potential fights against Max Holloway and Brian Ortega. Then let him move up to Welterweight and go for two belts. UFC will need to market him correctly, but he could eventually end up being one of the biggest draws in the sport. This whole Conor deal has made him a household name now.
Ufc is not going to give in to khabib’s demands. He has become a recognizable name in the last week but he has no leverage. He is under contract and was never a draw before this past Wkend. He is pulling a nate Diaz. He might be the greatest light weight of all time but the ufc will be just fine without him. The fighters need a union. Until all the top names get together the ufc will have complete control over the fighters.

Lesnar was trained in the WWE on how to sell a fight. The stuff he did after UFC 100 was straight WWE. People watch to see him win and people watch to see him lose. (same with McGreggor)

Dude lives at home with his parents still. Money is the absolute least of his concerns. Of any fighter in the UFC he gives a little fucks as anyone about the money.

The only people who don’t care about money are those already rich.

Nothing in life is free and he has kids and a family. He can’t fight forever, so making 500,000 to fight elsewhere, when he could make 5 million in the UFC isn’t happening.

He knows the UFC needs him, so he is bluffing all in hoping they don’t call him.

Yeah...the UFC would really be losing something by not caving in to his demands...I can't wait to watch another match with him doing the same fucking thing on the floor all match like he does in all his matches. Riveting.

He isn’t going anywhere. No one can pay him what the UFC can.

He doesn't care about money. Khabib likely made another $5+ million on top of his purse, from the estimated 2.4 million PPV buys. He is set for life.

He is smart to use his leverage while he has it. I have no doubt he could retire today & be okay with it.

I do feel bad for Stipe though. But I have a feeling that the UFC knows DC is gonna hang it up. What I'm hoping they do is that once DC beats Lesnar and retires, the belt goes up immediately in a title bout of Stipe vs. Cain. That would be amazing.

Stipe doesn't deserve an immediate rematch after getting starched in the first round. And then add to it that he isn't much of a draw.

DC is playing this right. His legacy is already sealed. He is retiring in March, so go for the big paydays against easier opponents.

Fuck Jon Jones. DC doesn't him shit.

Khabib opens a long sought after markets that the UFC have been trying to get into for years. Russia/Africa/Muslim. The UFC would be silly to not cave on his demand.

Stipe is the most decorated heavyweight in terms of title defenses. He earned a rematch based on that. BUT, I didn't say he should get one with DC. I said I think the plan for him will always be to put him in another title bout after DC retires against a top contender. I'm just hoping that contender is Cain.

In the heavyweight division though, Stipe's gonna run through most everyone on the current top tier rankings, IMO. DC is just a different animal. That's why I'm hoping Cain returns.

Stipe & his wife have whining for a rematch since the week after his loss. One fight & he should get that title shot. Maybe a rematch in March if DC/Lesner happens in January. Not likely, but still a possibility.

DC is getting strip of light-heavyweight title after UFC 230. The Jones/Gus fight at 232 will be for the title.

Cain, who knows wtf his health status is? Anyone? He had vertebrae damage or something like that which caused NSAC to pull him from UFC 207 in early 2017. I hope we see him again, but no one knows when that will be.

30 mil... 100 mil? It is no longer about TV or cable. The future is streaming. The estimated streaming numbers alone from 229 was around 500k. With fightpass & the new ESPN+ deal, we are talking about over 25 cards exclusively available only via stream & another 12-13 PPV that can be streamed.

The ufc has made their money by controlling their fighters. Khabib going public threatening the company was the stupidest thing he could do. It gives the ufc even more reason to kick Khabibs buddy out. The ufc was fine when gsp walked away. They will be just fine when khabib walks away. They don’t even need conor. Control of the market will always be more important than any fighter.

Khabib is the best they have right now. Anyone who has followed the UFC knows that can change as quickly as next month. No fighter and let me repeat that, NO FIGHTER has lasted. Khabib is no different. The life of a UFC champion is short. A 5 year run as a top fighter is amazing. To hold the title for a few fights is special. There are fighters that have been in the UFC for a decade but they don't stay at the top and don't fight often. There is always someone new.

Check this shit out. Khabib is talking to Conor. But the most crazy thing is the end of the video and what Conor says to Khabib. We all know it, but can't believe he said it.

I was a Khabib fan, but he is now elevated to GOAT status in my mind

my money is on derrick lewis. Daniel has show he can be knocked out, and it doesnt have to be cumulative. This is a bad fight for Daniel. They weighted in within 5 lbs of eachother. Wiedman has the win easy. Betting it all on those hoes
