Tough when a shoot is for real.
Peace, Joe.
Exactly. You can just see it in his face when he came out that something was wrong and up.
If yours truly can get real for a sec:
- I have had surgery on my abdominal region when I was a kid.
- My left ear drum ruptured when i was 9 and took 17 years of on and off again surgery to get it to a point where it is sealed off and nothing is there.
- Kidney Transplant recipient when i was 28.
- Buillied daily for nothing but my next thing for 5 years( year break in grade 7).
- High Functioning Autistic ( think it had something to the surgery as a kid)
If I had few things to say to Joe:
- "Life gets better if you succeed with this Mountain".
- " It takes courage and strength to conquer mountains. Believe in yourself, even when it isn't there, and you can do it!!!"
Godspeed and best of luck Joe
I wasn’t watching when the Shield first arrived, he said he beat it before so was it ever brought up on the dirt sheets?
From what I've seen, he hasn't outright said it before. There's some pieces floating around talking about his attempts at a football career ending after a bout with a "serious illness" but nothing definitive. This looks like the first time he's ever publicly address having bouts with it
Wow! What a kick to the nuts. I lost my father 21 years ago to a form of Leukemia. He battled it for 15 years before he reached stage 4 and his immune system was overwhelmed and just shut down. I know full well the fight Joe/Roman is in for but I know he can beat it again!!! I look forward to seeing him back in a WWE ring entertaining again very soon. Get well Joe!!!
Makes you wonder how the people that treated him so wrongly feel now. It explains why Vince was so behind him always pushing. I guess that shows the true fans, the ones that respected the man before the social media pity party starts.
He beat it once, he can do it again.
He also didn't want then cheering him out of pity which is why his back story has never been revealed before. Gotta give him major props for that. He wanted to make it based on his talent alone and not people feeling sorry for him.I thought he stated it well last night when he said that whether fans rooted for him or booed the hell out of him... they responded to him. From a WWE standpoint, that's probably all the wrestlers can hope for. Because if the fans aren't booing or cheering, the wrestler is back doing road shows in Sulphur Springs, Texas.

WWE does road shows in Sulpher Springs or is that some local Indy (Booker T's company, perhaps)?
Yeah but the Von Erichs were gods in Texas. Sad that only Kevin survives. One of those small region-specific promotions. They hit this area along with southern Oklahoma and Arkansas. I've checked them out at the local Elks Lodge. Definitely not WCCW level.

True. I don't count Jimmy Jam as an original Freebird. That will always be Hayes, Bam Bam and 'the runt of the litter' Roberts(?).Yeah. And damn near equally as sad is Michael Hayes is the only original surviving Freebird (not counting Jimmy Garvin). The Von Erich reign doesn’t happen without the Freebirds.
I would think that if he started to lose muscle mass he would've had that checked immediately. People in remission are checked every 4-6 months to ensure they're still in remission. My mother had a cancerous lymph node removed about 10 years ago and she still has to have full blood work and a check up every 6 months. So, if his leukemia came back in April I don't think he would just be finding out about it now. Plus he would've had symptoms he recognized and had checked out immediately. He knows how serious this is so I don't see him delaying checking out any issues that even remotely resembled any symptoms of leukemia.I dont want to assume anything and may be wrong but back around Mania Roman started looking smaller I wonder if that is why he has lost his muscle and he just found out about it.
