Green screwed up again with 3 minutes to go. Not only did the puck get past him on the boards, but he was so slow in recovering trying to cover his man back the other way that they scored. We then pulled our goalie and they scored an empty net goal. I turned it off since they scored the empty net with like 40 seconds to go. That made it 4-2, I assume they scored another to make it 5-2 but I didn't see that goal... not sure what happened. But just like the last loss, we found a way to lose it in the final 3 minutes due to a defense mistake...

Greene made a pretty critical mistake on that goal.
But Devils did not deserve to win that game. Flyers were better and the Devils played lazy.
Yes it was another empty netter to make it 5-2.
I hope Hynes made them practice after they got back to NJ last night. Sloppy penalties too

Cant say im upset with this.... Stafford didn't seem to be doing anything when he arrived a few games ago and we haven't looked good since he cracked the lineup. Maybe we will get back to what looked so great in the first few games... we will see tomorrow night

Couple of comments,

A) Hall just dominated that PP, totally took control
B) We still desperately need another top 4 defenseman
C) Where the hell has Wood been? Holds out and has been a no show
D) 2nd line needs to start putting up points, Mojo, Zacha, no more excuses

Lost another winnable game. Need to hold leads, did it all last season, not sure what changed.

Back in the win column although 2 more late goals, those need to stop.

Palmieri adds another goal, Nico with 2 assists that guy is red hot, Hall nets one.

Coleman is great, gets a goal, was hitting everything in sight, pedal to the floor every shift. Love it.

Take the win for sure but they need to work on what to do with leads. If it was other way around, teams would score two empty net goals on Devils.

They played well against Nashville too. Problem there again was not finishing great chances. Yesterday Coleman and Hall missed breakaways that would have sealed the win.

Nico has been good. That Hall goal happened because he won that battle along the boards. He does look stronger this season. Faceoffs is where he needs to improve. He was pretty good the first couple of games and I am sure he will get better.

No idea what is up with Zacha. He missed an easy chance yesterday too.

Kinkaid has been solid although he gave up some softies agains the Preds.

The team all around needs to get better. We are 20th in the league at 48% right now. I'm shocked we're that high.

Agreed. I looked it up because I do recall the team did pretty well in faceoffs to start the year. The Oilers beat us by a single faceoff.
Devils dominated the Caps, Sharks, Avs earlier this month in faceoffs.
They got embarrassed by the Flyers which was by far their worst performance thus far.
I thought they came to play against the Preds and faceoffs that game were dead even.
Panthers beat us in faceoffs in a game where I thought they played with less intensity compared to the Preds game.

Here is some more bad news. The Caps, Sharks and Avs are in bottom 5 of worst faceoff percentage teams in NHL.

Jesper Bratt traveling with the team is a good sign. Hopefully he injects some energy into the lineup, inspires guys like Miles Wood.

Our defense needs to watch Tampa Bay game tape. They are clearing the zone effortlessly.

Man our defense really got exposed in that game. Kinkaid was all over the place, flopping, out of position, he was not there mentally.

Bump Zacha to third line, let Zajac play second line, the chemistry obviously isn't there. Coleman looked good again, top line got decent chances most of the game.

Make a trade for a defenseman immediately, maybe two. Greene cannot play 22+ mins a night, it's unacceptable. Butcher had a rough game, Severson had a rough game, Lovejoy was Lovejoy.

I say once Bratt is back throw him on the second line, bump Zajac up and see what happens.

Idk how we could start the game the way we did and suffer an embarassing lost of 8-3.... that's unbelievable...

Guys aren't playing hungry, lets go!

We obviously need defense but I would also happily part with a first and change for any of Pannarin, Nylander, Stone, Duchene etc.
