Ok well then. 1-3 it is.
But is our team really this bad or is it just Patricia getting off to a slow start?

Clearly the offense which we have invested 68,349,535 (40% of the cap) this year between Stafford, Lang, Tate, Jones, Wagner, Riddick and Decker. Not to mention valuable draft stock in Johnson and Ragnow is under-performing OR Cooter is just an average to below average coordinator. My guess is it's the ladder.

The biggest standout is obviously the rushing defense which is simply the worst in football. Most of us knew the D-line was one of the weak links on this team but this is just insanely bad. Maybe it's them learning a new system but we hired a DEFENSIVE coach. One would assume if he is actually competent. Even with subpar talent. We should at least be in the 18-25 range on COACHING ALONE.

Please give me your thoughts on these stats and what sticks out to you.

Fun Fact: We have 5.1 million in dead money we are paying Deandre Levy this year and 1.1 million that we are paying Laken Tomlinson.

Pass defense will get worse once somebody needs to use the passing game in garbage time. AKA we're ahead for more than a minute and a half.

The Rush defense will continue to be awful.

Stafford will win a couple games by not leaving any time on the clock.

We trade Darius Slay for Chris Hogan.

Run defense will look better as we get further away from those 2 long TD runs early in the season. Defensive line is completely void of talent. Williams is average to solid. Hand could develop. The rest suck or are injured. Our LBs are thin. Our Best player is out of position and still a bit undisciplined. Kennard has been solid. Our secondary has gotten beat on a few perfect throws but has been good. Penalties have been killing us too.

Fun Fact: We are surprisingly 4th in sacks.

Our Offense is nowhere near as good as the numbers even show because the most important stat has been left out. Turnovers. 7 turnovers already. Almost 2 per game. That is worst 25% in the league. Also scoring only 23.5 point a game in the process while giving up 1.5 points per game does not help. Not to mention all the FGs that were allowed due to the other turnovers being inside our 30. That brings the offense's net ppg below 20. Not going to beat anyone with that. No excuse for this whatsoever.

Fun Fact: We have a RB averaging close to 6 yards per carry and dont even use him on half the plays.

ST has been abysmal. Penalties galore and giving up tons of yards.

Not so fun fact: They suck so far.

:dhd:.

It's strange as hell and definitely makes me question Patricia and or Cooter (whoever is responsible).
Why the hell are you splitting the carries evenly between him and a washed up Blount?
I understand giving Blount carries when Johnson needs a breather and all, but straight up split?

The sacks take away the turnover sting but I expect that number to sink rapidly over the next 4 games when we revisit the mid season stats.

It surprised the crap out of me. Where was I for all these sacks? I must have nodded off here and there.

I think over half would be labeled "coverage sacks". Credit the DBs, which is the only decent part of our defense.

I think it is only a matter of time until teams revisit the tried and true way to beat the Lions. A bunch of 2-3 step drops that hit on a slant where the LB's fail to cover for that long.

Why risk that when they can just run for 5+ yards per carry?

Defense was good versus the run against GB. Lets hope it continues to improve.

I've never been one to trust stats, but I've grown cautiously optimistic.

In the 1st two games big plays ate our defense alive. They've cleaned that up. They still need a DT.

It doesn't seem stupid any longer when they run the ball. They still need to do better in the red zone.

Prator hasn't missed since the 1st game. Still need to clean up the kick coverage.

Maybe this coaching staff will work out. I hope so. I don't know how many more coaching changes I have left in me.

Now if they can just figure out how to beat the shitty teams.

We beat teams that cant run. 1 dimensional passing teams are easily beatable with our secondary. Need to stop the run and Offense needs to score 27 without turning it over in our end. ST needs to not suck.
