I totally understand your point.

I just see it differently.

How they handle this situation could alter the course of their franchise.
This situation makes me believe that maybe he wasn't fully healthy, but they wanted to get him out of SA so they said he was healthy. If that's the case that was misleading.

But I get why Toronto would err on the side of caution if that is the case - given they traded their franchise guy to get him & don't want to end up with zero on a trade-in.

That's exactly my point. You don't rush them back, but you don't play them if you don't believe they're healthy. GS waited to bring KD, Steph & Dray back until they could go. They didn't bring them back then rest them every couple of games. Same thing with Boogie.
Minutes restrictions, resting on back to backs is pretty standard practice for older or injured guys.

Sure, it's odd to have it happen on the 2nd or 3rd game of the Season.

But, 3 games in 4 days warrants it.

I'd like to think so :-)
Well I'm only asking because usually when someone has to point out to others they made a point the appearance is it probably wasn't a good point. :suds:

Strongly disagree.

Muscle injuries are different. Overuse absolutely leads to a greater chance of aggravation and re-injury. 3 games in 4 days when he played 9 games all of last year is overuse. We aren't talking about a knee or even an Achilles.

Take the cautious approach. It is the right play and honestly the only play. The Raptors can still get the top seed even if Kawhi plays 70. They are as deep as anybody in the league.

I never said it wasn't the right move. I am questioning whether he's as healthy as they're leading on.

I mean, he sure looks healthy. The Raptors being cautious with a player coming off a season long injury is no reason to think otherwise.

Hell, Kawhi doesn't ever need to play a back to back. I am sure he will, but he doesn't need to.

you are looking way to much into this

Again 3 games in 4 nights. He is still getting his legs under him from missing almost all year.

Raptors are worried about the long term goal. Not tonight.

Meh, he's just another one of them sissy ass millenials. :dhd:

There's also easing them back in. Some of it is about limiting playing time because you don't want to fatigue the injured part of their body and risk relapse or some other sort of set back.

Right now, the Lakers have Lonzo on a minutes restriction because they want to see how his knee responds from the surgery he had. If it responds well, his minutes will increase. This will most likely keep happening incrementally until he's back to normal minutes.

It's also, to a lesser extent, about letting the player regain confidence in the injured part of their body.
