Lions travel to Indiana, have to think Trace sees that tape and comes out blazing. Think they give Stevens a role in this one as well since he is from the area. Back on track PSU 38-17

Poor play, bad decision on the fake punt. Looks like Franklin is trying to force something to happen. Griese said it best, you are supposed to be the more talented team, punt the ball … don't give them life. I was surprised they excepted the penalty after a 40 yard punt but now we know why.

Now that was a smart play. IU has been spying McSorely and Steven's helped open that big run by pulling the LBer away. Follow that up to let Tommy throw one. Now that is some GOOD coaching and execution.

You know sometimes McSorely makes me chew my fingers off. He looks like he is stinking up the joint but he never gives up and ends up making me call myself a dumb A$$ later in the game.

And then McSorely pulls another one out of the hat. 9-T.McSorley complete to 84-J.Johnson. 84-J.Johnson to IU 13 for 59 yards.

A big play followed by three nothing plays for a FG. I rest my case. I'll be back later. Time to run some errands.

Glad they won but once again you have to question the in game coaching Three straight pass plays up 12 with 4 minutes to go and you run 19 seconds off the clock. And why the heck is he calling time out before an onsides kick? :noidea:

We had to come from behind to win this one. I am not sure this team is going any further in the win column this year.

The passing is easy.... He's trying to pad McSorely's stats similar to his failed attempts last year to pad Barkley's stats. I'm not sure if he gets a bonus based on individual player efforts or what, but this is getting old.

Part of the attraction in recruiting is showing the kids you recruit how many guys got to the NFL. Don't know if you follow PSU football on Facebook but he posted combine, pre-draft, post draft over and over. If Franklin is honest with himself he knows McSorely has little chance to play in the NFL. I believe he believes in him and with good reason. All that said I did not think Franklin was a good OC when he was at MD and I don't think he is a good field coach. I think he is a great recruiter an if he can hire good coordinators he can be very successful.

He did a post game interview for TV where he was asked about the time out on the onside kick and he blew it off and went onto something else. I think a little insecurity is showing right now. My personal belief is he Isn't in the top 5 game coaches in the Big 10. He can recruit with any of them though. As long as he knows his strengths and weaknesses he will do well and so will Penn State.

I do think he knows what people are saying about his coaching and blowing 4th quarter leads the last few years and is becoming sensitive to it.
