Oklahoma State was "more deserving" of a game against LSU because of several reasons:
1. Oklahoma State had won the 2nd best conference that year, LSU had won the best. It was an amazing matchup of an elite offense and an elite defense from two different styles.
2. Oklahoma State had more ranked wins than Bama that year and, depending on what site you look at, as good if not a better SOS.
3. We had seen LSU already beat Bama.
4. Regarding OK State's loss: It happened on the very day that they went through an enormous tragedy when two of the women's basketball coaches, including the head coach, died in a plane crash. I think it's more than fair to excuse a poor performance on a day like that, considering how close-knit the athletic communities are on college campuses.
5. Even your FEI rankings put Oklahoma State ahead of Alabama that year.

4 is a bitch excuse. I couldn't have pulled our women's basketball coach out of a lineup, at a P5 school they have even less interaction with other varsity sports, especially in season.

As for 3, we beat LSU everywhere but the scoreboard. As evidenced by the result of the championship game.

Championship teams don't lose to shit teams period, especially not as a 4 td favorite, and definitely not by 31 as 17 point favorite.

Dude, Ohio State was selected over a team that beat them on the field. Your argument loses all credibility.

No it doesn't at all. You're arguing apples and oranges. Technically every single 1-loss team that's made the playoff has been selected over a team that beat them on the field.

Shhhh. Don't give 'em any ideas. They'll try to go to the B1G if they think they can win.

They couldn't win the Big 12 and mistakenly thought they could be the best team in the SEC. That ain't worked out too well.

I don’t think lil bro ever thought they could compete in the SEC bc they were a laughing stock, punching bag/guaranteed victory for 90% of the conference every year in the Big 12. They just saw an opportunity to get out of big bro’s shadow and become a higher paid Ho in the SEC.

Add Missouri as a quality win on Bama's great schedule. Mizzou went into Purdue and won.

Not the best after losing to a team that also lost to Northwestern, Eastern Michigan and Missouri at home. Lol.

Aren’t Haskins and Dobbins still going to the heisman ceremony? I swear I heard that somewhere.

Dude, come on. I'm usually a huge Bama defender on here, but this is really weak sauce. This sounds like an argument OD would make for Oregon. All that matters is the final score. Saying you had betters stats but lost and therefore won is absolutely ridiculous and is sad. Also, it's pretty much not true. The stats were basically equal and bad. LSU had 16 first downs, Bama had 17. Both teams had under 300 total yards, with LSU having 60 more rushing yards, and Bama 100 more passing yards. Both teams were under 40% on 3rd down conversions. And time of possession was 29:54 and 30:06.

Also the MVP/difference maker of that game was Brad Wing.

That interception was a bullshit call. The guy was already down when he took the ball away.

Past history, but I agree. If a receiver comes down with the ball in his hands on his back, he is down as soon as he hits the turf.
