They didn't just cut him, so why does it matter? And a 5th-rounder is far from pointless. Heck, the new Browns GM just drafted Tyreek Hill in the 5th-round a few years ago. But you probably think that pick is pointless too? The Browns needed to give Chubb more carries anyway and still have Duke Johnson too. They don't even need Hyde and he wasn't even playing great for them.

Good question. Not sure where Yeldon fits in if/when Fournette comes back. If Fournette doesn't come back not sure if Yeldon remains #1RB with Hyde as the backup of they start Hyde and use Yeldon as the 3rd down/passing down back???
I think Hyde was always meant to be Jacksonville's backup plan in case Fournette's injury issues persisted. You have to remember when they made this move they thought they would be competing for a playoff spot again. Hyde was never going to get many reps in with a healthy Fournette or even challenge him for the starting role. Chubb looks great when he gets a starting role amount of carries for the Browns. I think both franchises got what they were looking for in the end.

Totally agree and also from the Jaguars they were starting Yeldon anyway with Hyde there to take the load off Yeldon when (not if) Fournette is hurt/out.
