Hmm.

That's surprising because as of last night they were airing ads and doing promos/ build up.

What happens to those matches now?

Why not move it to England?

That's the rumor that it isn't cancelled, just being moved to England.

That is good.

This is hard because you make a deal with someone you honor it

But

In the end. A man who was trying to make his country better is dead by hands of his fellow country mem

Could be is the main thing. The WWE is in a tough spot and are screwed in a way, I know Linda is in the administration but so far they have successfully stayed out of politics but now will be forced too.

I haven't seen any of the wrestling news sites report this so I'd take this with a grain of salt. Also, isn't The Sun like a trashrag tabloid? Then again, 80% of most wrestling news sites aren't dependable either.

I never threatened to cancel because of match results or whatever but I'm cancelling my network subscription for the foreseeable future if they go through with this

I wonder if all the people calling for WWE to call off their Saudi Arabia show have stopped driving their cars that run on gas or diesel because that's made with Saudi oil, ya know??? And thrown out anything made from oil (makeup, tires, shoes, etc...)?

I know the answer to these questions is no because they're hypocrites.

Personally I'm fine with whatever WWE does cause they're a business, not a political entity and they have a contract they must honor or pay the consequences. I'm sure there's a clause about danger to their employees and wrestlers but I don't think that applies here, at least not yet.

What a bunch of bullshit. Oil is a necessity. WWE wrestling is a form of entertainment and they're getting hundreds of millions of dollars to be a propaganda wing for a regime that just violently murdered a journalist. There's also the obvious conflict with Linda McMahon in the President's cabinet as they're making these deals.

Keep watching if you want but not wanting to warch this shit doesn't make you a hypocrite. It means you have some type of conscience as a consumer.

Same by you. It makes you a hypocrite in my book if you're not willing to go the whole 9 yards. Oil is too hard to give up so you won't and will instead do what's easiest. What propaganda??? WWE has said they don't agree with Saudi's positions on women. They have made no statement either way on the journalist nor should they as it is an ongoing investigation. Obvious conflict???? Linda is in the Small Business Admin which has nothing to do with WWE who is a major corporation. WWE is under the SEC's jurisdiction.

You have conscience as a consumer but only when it's convenient for you. Sorry, but that makes you a hypocrite in my book.

If you..

1. Don't understand the difference between making sure you're able to get to work in the morning and watching a TV show that's getting hundreds of millions of dollars for staged fights I can't help you there.
2. Think Linda being a part of the Trump administration (that's whitewashing the murder of an American journalist) while the WWEs getting hundred million dollars from the country that murdered him isn't an issue we haven't a different level of cynicism. That's fine
3. The WWE is lucky to have fans that think of it as a "business". No fans of any entertainment product have that perspective on an issue like this one

But not sure why the WWE has to change anything. They committed to doing this knowing full well stuff like this happens to their citizens so why is this any different?

I shouldn't have been so forceful with my opinion.

McMahon and the WWE have done a great job keeping their programming A-politcal the past couple years and as a fan it was appreciated.

Personally their association with the Saudi government crosses a line that makes makes me uncomfortable as a fan. I literally can't watch it right now.

To state the obvious the WWE can definitely still run their shows and other people can still watch them.

Keep a eye on the dirtsheets tonight/ Tomorrow.

Apparently Tickets sales are postponed for it.

Maybe moving???

But As for your political post. I think it is morally wrong to have them do Business with the Saudis because of their Human rights issues

But i will still watch

Morals don’t really have a place in a world where businesses are run by money.

Without getting super political if you just brought in an outsider and told them a company is doing business with a country that has been a US ally going on 10 years I don’t think they would have an issue with it.

As a publicly traded company WWE is obligated to please their shareholders and those shareholders want the most money possible because that’s the system and society we live in. I don’t think it would be right for people to pick and choose when they are ok with taking Saudi Arabia’s money and when they’re not.

I’m not saying you’re right or wrong, but to me, people who didn’t have an issue with them doing a show in Saudi Arabia prior to this incident is being hypocritical now to get outraged. Sounds harsh but this incident isn’t anything to get worked up about compared to all the terrible things they do.

An American based journalist was just massacred on international soil. This isn't a Saudi issue, or a geopolitical issue.. this is an American issue.

He was a paid Saudi to write negative things about the Saudi Prince then goes into a Saudi embassy, to me its truly hard to get behind this is a geopolitical incident. If the outrage is because he is paid by an American to write then I think the morals of the outraged person is jacked up. The stuff they do to women and children is something to be outraged over and to cancel the show over not this. IMO it is just hard to ignore every other human rights violations but care about a guy who trolls the Saudi’s.
