No it isn't. Don't you know that ALL games matter. How does Bama LSU have 42.5% of the votes? Bama is going to the cfp regardless of the outcome of that game. It’s meaningless.
Remember in 2011 when Bama played LSU in that huge matchup to determine which of them would play for the title ? That game matteres SO much they decide to play it again. ImpressiveNo it isn't. Don't you know that ALL games matter.

If people truly believe "every game matters " then those people should never advocate for a rematch for a title . Luckily we have the playoff now but you can't use a tagline " every game matters" while completely ignoring the results of the biggest game of the year . It would've been wrong in 06 had it happened then tooI'm not going to suggest that I was pleased with a Bama-LSU
rematch. But, we should remember 2006 or 2007. (I forget
which one) Ohio St and Mich were 1 and 2 for most of the year.
OSU won the regular season match-up.
Then Tressell did not vote in the Coaches Poll. If he had voted
in the Coaches Poll...Michigan would have been #2 and they would
have played again in the Fiesta Bowl for the NC.
The entire country would have listened to Big10 Domination for
the next 9 months.
But Tressel didn't vote and UF became the #2 team and then mauled Ohio State in Phoenix. Michigan wound up going to the
Pasadena and getting mauled by USC. And of all a sudden the
Country spent the next 9 months asking..."What is wrong with the
Big10?"
A Tale of Two Cities, if you will. I didn't like Bama-LSU II for the
reasons that were shown 4 years prior. Once OSU and UM had
to play other big boys the truth was known.
We'll never know the truth about 2011.
