Well, if the NFL ever changes their rules it would. The thing preventing that is that you aren't eligible for the NFL until your Junior year. Worst case scenario is what Bosa has done here. No one is going to sit out their junior season to qualify for the draft, it would likely knock you out completely or certainly knock you down a few rounds.
Unless you have Matt Millen as your NFL GM.

Bosa's injured right now & can't even play. It's not like he took himself outta action. Try & keep up. And your one & done comment. I had to say something because the idea itself is completely absurd.

Ohio state fans are the touchiest posters on the Hoop. Say one thing you don't agree with or calls attention to a negative image and you fuckers go nuts.
Jeeeez.......:gaah:

Other than your idiotic one & done comment what exactly have I disagreed about? I don't like that Bosa is leaving because he's a damn good player. But his decision doesn't bother me. It would be selfish on my part if I had an issue w/ him wanting to play @ the next level sooner rather than later. Got any other dumb stuff to say?

My only issue is he was supposed to be a captain and by just leaving he is telling the team to fuck off and that they don’t matter. He could rehab/train at the school and still be a part of the team. Instead he just bails.

You keep referring to comment that was made in jest, so basically your acting obtuse.
We've had these similar circular disagreements in the past, that go nowhere, so I'll choose to just move on from the thread.
You win.

Pretty classless move if ya ask me. Whats next, not playing your junior year completely? College football has becoma nothing more than a farm team for the Nfl.
When are they gonna get to "one and done " status?

overall, as this plays out in the coming years, the truly elite players we'll rarely see anymore.... its going to take the teams down a notch..... welcome to mediocrity...... bullshit move........

“It’s very emotional and tough, and I know the coaches had hoped for a different outcome, but they totally understood and I’ll always be forever indebted to those guys for what they did for my sons,” said John, whose son Joey – Nick’s older brother – also played for the Buckeyes from 2013-15. “I’ve trusted both of my sons to that group of coaches, and I can’t thank them enough

The reason why it had to come to an end, John said, was that Nick had to undergo a bilateral repair of his groin muscle – a surgery that requires a 10- to 12-week recovery before Nick would have been able to return to the field

With the time needed for his recovery, Bosa would have only been able to return for Ohio State’s bowl game or College Football Playoff game(s), and he and his family ultimately determined that it was not worth it to try to come back to potentially play in just one more collegiate game, having already made the decision to declare for the 2019 NFL draft even before his injury.

“The timeframe, we started to look at it, and it just wasn’t going to make sense for him to even try and come back,” John said. “And it would be in a situation where it was a bowl game or a playoff game, and that’s just not, it’s just not something that you’re going to risk having to try and come back for that date. So when you stripped away the emotion, then we understood and I knew as a dad what’s best for my son. And he came to the same conclusion on his own. And then we as a family discussed it, Joey and the doctors and his mom, and we all knew.”

Nick Bosa's Father On His Son's Decision: “It Was Hard For Him To Actually Accept That It Was Over”

---

The Bosa's were good to Ohio State and I have nothing but respect for that family. Screw the idiots who don't understand the situation. After seeing what happened to Jaylen Smith, I don't blame a projected top 10 pick protecting his money. It's not like he's sitting out games healthy.

To me shutting it down isn't a big deal and is probably the right move considering he probably would only get a few games at the end of the year and risk getting injured again. I don't like him leaving school when he could still do the rehab at school and still be a voice in the locker room. To me it shows a lack of leadership on his part.

To say nothing of, oh I don't know, finishing a college degree.

Since he quit, is he allowed to go to Ohio State’s pro day?

It's funny how the OSU fans are supportive and understand his mature decision, yet the trolls of the other fanbases are the ones up in arms.

Not surprising, OSU fans were the ones defending keeping an accused wife beater on staff.

Don't blame the kid at all...his objective is to get paid to play and while it sucks for OSU...this is the world we live in now.

CFB needs to figure something out or this will become more commonplace than it already is for kids that are projected to be top of the draft picks.

Not only does that not correlate to my statement, but it's also completely false. Come on man, you can do better.

It does correlate. Ohio State fans will defend all things Ohio State, no matter what.

You were the biggest person here defending Meyer for rehiring a guy he knew had been accused of spousal abuse, helped hide it from Ohio State, and then keep him for years after being accused of it again. That is 100% fact.

I actually wasn't defending Smith at all. I said many times I was glad he was fired and it was a mistake Meyer kept him on that long. What I defended was Meyer getting fired over it, which was ludicrous.

Again, this has nothing to do with Nick Bosa in the slightest.

Because OSU fans will defend anything Meyer tells them to.
