I heard about that on the radio on the way home earlier this week.
Seriously thought they were joking.

Then I lmfao when I realized it was the new slogan.

I would say that most schools aren't going to come and recruit from Nebraska or you'd see more players from here in the NFL. It's not a lack of talent but more so lack of opportunity. There are 4 people from my school in the years that I attended who ended up in the NFL, 2 of which were walk-ons at Nebraska. Another who I played soccer with was also a walk-on at Nebraska and went into the NFL. I have 2 cousins who played in the NFL, one who played and won in a Super Bowl. So to say that Nebraska is a dead sea is just ignorant. We have talent, it just isn't utilized. It's why the walk-on program at Nebraska produces so many great names. You have all the talent that was never given an opportunity to go anywhere else.

Is this for real? Every school has walk ons who become scholarship players and go on to bigger and better things. Hell — Michigan has not one, not two, but three brothers — all walk ons at the school, 2 of the 3 are starting in the NFL now(1 was a 2nd round pick, 1 was a 3rd round pick and one is still on UM)

If Nebraska had these elite HS recruits — they’d be found by the top programs who scour every inch of the US and beyond (players are being recruited from Germany, American Somoa, etc)

If you think Nebraska is going to become a national power again by recruiting their own state — you are kidding yourself. That is one of the main reasons why Nebraska will struggle to get back to a top 10 team, because they don’t have the built in base of elite local recruits who were brought up on Nebraska football and they have to recruit nationally against all the other top schools.
