To me this is admission of 2 things

1 JD wanted and needed more help on the analytics side. Cubs are ahead of the curve. Bonus. They thought more of our batting coach lost than many Ranger fans

2. Jayce Tingler is probably going to change roles and my guess is that he is exact type JD likes in a field role. This hire is a hedge to fill in just in case of a loss. BTW. Tingler also interviewing for Thad and the Twins

Adam Morris was insinuating yesterday that since the Cubs wanted our hitting coach that that meant he was a really good hitting coach. I disagree. Every decision by good clubs isn't necessarily the right decision. Good clubs can make several bad decisions.

Can we get a hitting coach who emphasizes Situational hitting? We seem to be worst in the league at getting runners home from 3rd base with less than 2 outs. Worst in the league at it for the last 5 or 6 years probably.
