And have Draymond, Boogie, and Klay off the bench!

Klay and Draymond would start with AD. Jokic, Boogie and Giannis off the bench. Those guys with their ability to shoot the ball as bigs, opens up driving lanes for Giannis. I could live with it.

Klay doesn't have to when Jokic, AD, Giannis and Boogie are all playing for the minimum.

Here's what a former GM said about Giannis' situation in Milwaukee

Former GM, agents predict Giannis Antetokounmpo will leave the Bucks

“There’s no way in hell that Giannis Antetokounmpo is staying in Milwaukee for his second deal,” the former GM said. “I would bet everything I own that Giannis leaves Milwaukee.”

“On that first deal, you’re the only one able to give him the life-changing money, for the most part, and a guy is typically going to take the life-changing money no matter who he is,” the former GM said. “On the second contract, if a player is getting a max contract then that probably means there is more than one team willing to offer that same deal… Market definitely matters. In the first max contract [when a player is restricted], it doesn’t matter much. In the second deal, you know there’s only certain places a guy will go. Certain franchises have to build their team knowing they aren’t a destination for second-contract max players… It’s tough for small-market teams.”

This just re-affirms what many have said in that it's completely standard for a star player to take the first big contract, ala KAT. What's harder is the second contract.

He'd be a perfect replacement for KD. He could facilitate the offense and let Steph and Klay play off the ball.

Yeah. I honestly don't understand why he continues to fight this concept. Is is time proven fact.

Also the dumbest thing about the KAT situation was that he was a restricted free agent.

Thibs: "KAT we want to give you a max."
KAT: "FUCK THAT, I'M OUT"
Thibs: "So you're saying you want to sign a free agent max with another team, which will be less than what we're offering you. And then we're gonna match. How do you think that'll work out for you?"
KAT: "I love the Timberwolves organization and I never want to leave."

And don't think for one second that I didn't see this report before your above post. There's more reasons than just one as to why I'm on RealGM.

In all likelihood it's a castaway GM that got fired from a small-market organization, hoping that Giannis leaves so he could in some way validate his said time in office. A guy like Chris Grant (the guy who drafted Anthony Bennett) comes to mind...

It wasn't the fact that he signed that allowed for me to give him praise. It was his approach in doing so.

Take the Myles Turner extension yesterday, for instance. As a Pacers fan, I was not a fan of the move by our front office. However, I looked at the good of it.

Turner actually seems enthused to be here. I never felt that same enthusiasm from Paul George at any point in his seven years here.

But fact is, personality displays that you call "attention seeking" and the uncertainty of players changing teams actually help promote interest in the league and is therefor good for the sport. Whether you like it or not.

If free agency is the primary topic of discussion that keeps our league profitable:

To quote Samuel L. Jackson from "Coach Carter": "I think that's the problem, don't you?"

@CitySushi Had you actually read my full post from that said thread, you would already know this. That, and the fact that he's never missed a game in three seasons, a rarity in the game today.

No, I don't.

Because I am not stuck in a 1980s way of thinking as you seem to be. Times have changed and players displaying personality is a good thing.

Turner = restricted FA

He did sign for less than the max, but again, you aren't getting it. He has no other play than to be enthused. He is getting life changing money and the Pacers ultimately control his decision. He can only leave if they let him. Paul George was enthused in 2013 also. In fact, here is a quote from PG13:

"I did a terrible job - I was supposed to have a poker face through this whole situation, but I really wanted to be here."

Even if Turner were less than 100% happy (and I am not implying he isn't), expressing frustration would get him absolutely nowhere until there is light at the end of the FA tunnel.

Please. Find me one big money RFA signing who didn't at least act enthused about their contract. Until you can do that, then you have no case.

So if it doesn't fit your narrative, you just dismiss it. Gotcha.
