did you guys know the Wizards ahve the longest streak in the NBA without having a 50 win season?

If they do not do something this season i think its time to blow that whole team/front office up. Just start from scratch and trade everything not nailed down for assets/pieces parts. John Wall is extremely talented but he just doesnt look like a winner. Much more of a "whiner" than a "winner".

Yep.

It is why I get offended when we have worst managed team discussions and the Wizards don't appear there.

They always tend to build with 45 wins and a low playoff spot as the target. And it is astounding how often they miss.

Yeah it's looking more and more likely that this is the scenario that plays out. But one thing is that the Warriors are opening the Chase center next year and there's a good chance KD signs one more 1 and 1 before bolting.

But either way, if KD leaves, that money should be divided between Klay and Draymond. Then you'll have Iguodala and Livingston's contracts up after next season (Livingston is only partially guaranteed to for next year) and you'll have that core three moving forward. The Warriors will just have to hope they hit on some draft picks. Damian Jones looks real promising right now. We'll have to see who steps up this year between Looney and Bell.

Klay has earned every dollar that he has coming to him. I wouldn't ask him to take a discount and if he feels like he shouldn't, he shouldn't. In the words of Teddy KGB:

You guys would have Durant's full bird rights this summer, right?

The reason I'm asking is...

If he did decide to Bolt, could you pay Boogie?

Thompson would be the perfect shooter James needs.....
i cant wait for the first time LeBron is playing the 4 and like Rondo, Hart and McGee are on the court and hes just getting mobbed at by 3 guys.

Did Wall bulk up?

The one time I watched the Wiz in preseason, he looked bigger.

One of his biggest advantages is his speed at that height.

Since he isn't a deadly shooter, I hope he maintains it.

Hart?

Lonzo, Rondo and Mcgee, yeah...

But, Hart is decent enough to keep the defense honest and he actually worked on his shooting.

Did you mean Lance?

Heat will be without 4 rotation players including 2 possible starters tomorrow.

One of those rare times where I hate the early start. If this was 2 years ago when the season started in late October, great chance 3 of the 4 are healthy and playing in the season opener
Spurs say hi...

Me too.

Added strength is needed for him though. Because his game is reliant upon his ability to get to the rim. Strength should help him finish and perhaps keep him out of the trainer's room so often.

Besides, at some point he will lose some of that speed anyway. I think DWade's evolution should be Wall's long term model. Add strength (and hopefully shooting) each year as you get older, and the eventual loss in speed won't cripple your effectiveness.

Sounds like you're more interested in the Lakers than the Cavs.....

I would be too if I were a Cavs fan.....:heh:

If he isn't starting, I doubt they pick that option up next year.

So, it's a overpay.

But, not so bad if it's just for one year.

The Chicago Bulls and free agent Jabari Parker have agreed to a two-year, $40 million deal, reports ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Report: Jabari Parker, Bulls complete deal
If it was after the season he scored 20ppg (think it was a few years ago) I could see it but coming off a season where he scored less than 13 in just 31 games? Seems like a definite overpay.

The reason I'm asking is...

If he did decide to Bolt, could you pay Boogie?

I think the Warriors will hold KD's bird rights next year. So if KD wanted to sign long term, next year would absolutely be the one to do it. Or if he wanted to facilitate a sign and trade he could do so, maxing out his value. I think the Warriors would be happy to oblige and be on good terms with him departing.

I think if KD leaves outright, since they don't hold Boogie's bird rights, they can only pay him with open cap space. I checked the numbers briefly and including Klay's cap hold, I think they'll have somewhere in the range of 10-12M(including non-guaranteeing Livingston). That entire amount could go to Boogie who could get a raise and an additional year to build up value with a much larger role on the team. Right now there's so much uncertainty regarding Boogie, that I see a potential road to him remaining in GS for one additional year if KD leaves.

I think the Warriors are guaranteed to have Steph and two of the three of KD, Klay and Draymond going forward. KD is the easiest to part with simply because he's been tenured the least (at least from a fan perspective).

Most wins? You up for that?
I think it's only fair to add something to it. We can do most wins for 1k Vcash, but if the Kings finish within 15 wins of the Lakers I get to give you an avatar for the first round of the playoffs.

@Mecca

This is the maddening part about the whole McCaw saga. The Warriors would LOVE for him to thrive with them this year. They were looking for him to take over Iguodala's role, who Iguodala has already mentioned before he was grooming him to take his spot.

If McCaw became a lockdown defender and versatile wing, that makes Iguodala very tradeable. He'll be an expiring contract, a vet with championship experience who could help a Brooklyn or Sacramento immediately.

If say McCaw had a strong season and showed he could be a contributor they could give him a 3 year 18-20M deal, which would be a good value for both. Then you, non guarantee Livingston and trade Iguodala into open cap space. Now if KD bolts, guess who has 20M a year they could give to Boogie?

The Warriors would then be able to lock up Klay on a max with bird rights. Then could do the same the following year with Draymond and have 4 all-stars locked up with solid backups.

McCaw honestly fucked himself over on this one and potentially the Warriors. So he should be @WiggyRuss new favorite player by those accounts, lol.

Within 15 games? Make it 10-12.

And 1k is a lot and my cash is shrinking with football season upon us. 250-300 Lakers get more wins?

You have given this some SERIOUS thought.

It actually just dawned on me after Mecca mentioned the bird rights of KD and resigning Boogie. I then thought about how the Warriors could free up more cap space and everything sort of just clicked.

If Kings finish within 12 wins of the Lakers I give you an avi for round 1 of the nba playoffs and whoever wins more games gets 300 vcash? Fine with me. I only said 1k because I thought you'd want more on the line in a bet heavily in your favor.

Taking OKC +12.5. No Russ, but Draymond will be on a pitch count.
