Not sure, but it really doesn't matter how much. A bump in win percentage is still a bump in win percentage.

Additionally, it may have something to say about the quality of teams chosen for the "guaranteed win" type game as I'm also sure that USC would be more likely to lose to Fresno St. than Mercer or The Citadel.

Bama also may be more likely to lose to Fresno St. than the bottom of the SEC. That may be a 5% chance compared to a 2% chance, but it's still more likely. lol

They continue to bring up Oregon State and Fresno State as bottom feeder wins but between the two since 2000 they have finished ranked about 6 times. They still cant tell me when Citadel , Chattanooga, Mercer ( who they play more than some conference opponents) have ever even been ranked even for a week since 2000.

You're right, it doesn't determine who is the best team is. It determines who are the 4 best and then lets the geme sort out the best.

Not necessarily. As Ron G. pointed out, Bama was likely the best team in cfb last year, but had tOSU gone unbeaten, Bama likely doesn't get the chance to show it.

Exactly, both are terrible, But Bama was the only one gettin attacked for it. I feel that Bama,Clemson, and OhioState have all played weak schedules, Notre Dame is the only team in contention that has played a worthy schedule.

Yeah, I agree. Both will probably end up similar in nature. I think Bama by the end of the year will have played a more difficult schedule.

LSU/Michigan is a wash
MSU and MSU is a wash

The rest is bad. But Bama will have a better opponent in the SEC CG more than likely. Which is why I think they finish with a better overall SOS.

ESPN and Colley have Bama's rated as better
Massey and Billinsgley have Ohio State's rated better

Sagarin has a 1 spot difference between schedules. Neither team has played a good schedule. It's about as even as you could get.
Where does ESPN have Bama's as better? It'd odd that both would be unbeaten and Bama would have a better SOS if we're still #1 in SOR and Bama is #5.

Granted Citadel will be a tough matchup at the coin toss. I mean, its 50/50 and anything can happen. Beyond that, i anticipte we might rest Tua and let Jalen and Mac Jones handle the Bulldogs.

They did give the Chattanooga Moccassins all they could handle, so it could be a battle of wind at the coint toss.

A&M would be the second best team in your conference.
Shhhh. Don't give 'em any ideas. They'll try to go to the B1G if they think they can win.

They couldn't win the Big 12 and mistakenly thought they could be the best team in the SEC. That ain't worked out too well.

I get that they're different, but they seem to be tied pretty closely. I guess with their explanation of what SOR is, it's just odd that they wouldn't correlate to SOS more than they do.

I mean it's pretty obvious as to why Ohio State would be #1 in SoR, and yet can still have a worse overall SOS.
