You’ve really seen a QB take a knee? I’ve seen tons of QB’s pull a Brett Farve and slide down in the fetal position but I’ve just never seen a QB do that and it seems highly dangerous to do it. It’s kind of like diving into home plate with the catcher blocking the plate.

Yes. It's just taking a knee. Similar to a guy taking a knee in the end zone rather than running it out. I haven't seen it a lot, not even enough for it not to be considered uncommon, but it's definitely not something that's never happened before.

Even if it hadn't been done before, the rule in college football is that once the knee touches the ground, the player is down, which I'm sure Tago knows and he had plenty of time to pull up and avoid hitting him.

There was no more excuse for Tago's hit than there was for Gustins and there was no excuse for Tago's hit being overturned or for Gustin's hit to not be called.

He's really really really REALLY not going to accept that it was a clear targeting call 100% under the rules, but Gustin's was.

As soon as Tago lowered his head he already violated the rule before even making contact, more or less the player was down before lowering it and making helmet to helmet contact. It was in every way a full violation and clearly so.

Yeah, I kind of get his point, but I don't agree with it. When a player is down, he's down. When a player lowers his head and hits another player in the head, it's targeting.

I would love to be able to find some loophole or excuse for Gustin's hit to not be targeting, but there just isn't one. As I posted earlier, I'm relieved it wasn't called because it may have cost us the game if it was. But there was just no excuse for the hit and no excuse for the call not being made.

Oh I hate the pussification of football in general and really miss those crossing route crushes we used to see. Not a fan of how far the targeting call has gone and REALLY hate that the next game suspension part of it is non contestable. There should be a process to appeal those and should probably automatically be done. There's a lot I can say about how crappy many of the rule changes are, but this met the technical and literal definition as spelled out in the current rules. Not sure why he can't just accept that and move on. It didn't cost either team in that game and since both teams had one that kind of balances it out a bit.

Looks like clay might do enough to keep his job. Fuck me. Still not impressed with the coaching and the discipline on this team. It should have been a blowout from the start. I don't know how Colorado was undefeated.

I just guess I’ve never seen a QB do it when he is about to get sacked. In the end zone is different because he is allowing a safety instead of a potential touchdown. It’s not really defending Tago because you can’t lead with your helmet per the rule, I just hate (obviously because I’m a Coug) that this story focuses on that hit, not the one where the refs, the booth, and office fucked up and cost us 1st and goal with 2 minutes left. I’d obviously prefer to be undefeated right now than have a loss.

And for the millionth time, we're reminded by Duck fans that college football didn't exist until 2002.

That and some interception involving something that looks like a football occurred in the 1990s. That appears to have been the first sighting of a device being used like a football and lead to the creation of the sport in 2002 we all enjoy today. It occurred at Oregon stadium, so it must be Nike that invented football. All makes sense now. Thank you Uncle Phil.

Besides that, the game of football never existed. Thanks for clearing that up again.

Who gives a rat's ass about what happened the past 15 years? We are talking about 2018!!!
Because admitting they were very lucky to win this game doesn't sit well with them. UW out performed them and lost a game they had setup to win. Even in victory all they can talk about is stuff from a decade ago. We get it, that 70-21 historic beating on their home turf rattled them in ways they won't get over anytime soon. Why wouldn't it? Worst beat down in the history of the series and put an exclamation on the end of their minor run.

Just let duck fans be duck fans. They aren't trainable.

Well, it clearly fucked your fans up or something. You STILL haven't learned how to win with any kind of class or grace. Not that anyone reasonably expected it.

Ducks won a close game and were very fortunate to come out with that win. At home. After a bye. Against a better team. Just accept it and move on. But you won't. Name calling and being a total douche to us is your fan bases calling card.
