So much for being a special year. This was strait up embarrassing. Did we even get 200 yards of offense? I'm having 2012 flashbacks ...

I think Grier has a concussion, think he got it on that late hit a few weeks ago, the one where he slid and the defender still hit him and it didn't get called. The guard and center play is killing this offense. I see 2 more losses this year. Who that was being honest with themselves didn't think we were over rated at #6? So many talk about the haters, but I don't see it. I think Iowa St. is a good team and will win more games than they lose. We still control our own destiny for a conference Championship. With the way the Big12 is down this year, we have just as good a chance as anyone. At least we didn't lose to Old Dominion! Spivital is nothing more than a glorified QB coach. He has done nothing since Johny Football left.....

Grier certainly is not playing at the level he was!! Last week he was throwing into double coverage over and over, yesterday he was holding the ball with open receivers downfield. The TV announcers yesterday kept talking about how well IAST was covering, yet when they showed a replay there was open guys every play. WVU ran into a buzz saw last night, glad our defense is playing well! You may be right, Mike, that is about the time when Grier began playing poorly and making bad decisions. I hope he heals up quickly, he should have been sat the second half against Kansas. If Holgorsen had a headache last week, I wonder what was ailing him last night

This game reminded me of 13-9, had big heads, thought we would just show up and win. Once the game started, coaches never adjusted, kept calling the same plays that were not working. Pitiful performance from top to bottom. Only bright spot was the blocked FG ran back for the TD.

Like DAD said... WVU may have underestimated its opponent last night. ISU came ready to fight. Our kids looked slow... they were dominated on the LOS. To an opponent that was good... but not great.

I could accept a dominating performance if our opponent was tOSU... Bama...

Not ISU.

The Pitt game ruined our chances for a NC. Last night’s loss may have done the same as far as hope to get to the playoffs. I never felt we could win a NC this year. I was hoping for a special year... and for me... getting to the playoffs would be special.

Just as we saw in the ‘07 season, there may end up being multiple teams with 1 and 2 losses vying for a NC. WVU can still make it to the Big 12 CCG. The season ain’t over. It’s but one loss.

But, I’m losing confidence in our QB and our OC. Dana alluded to his displeasure with his OC. Will that result in some change? You could see how pissed he was in the first half with the offense. It’s Dana’s job to make things right. He replaced DeForest when it was obvious a change was needed. Some real hard decisions are needed...

We were not executing our offense to attack. There are always options. If the QB wasn’t making the right choices, then he needed to be benched.

Grier looked just fine to me on that scoring drive and nice ball to Sills.

He dont have a concussion, and if he DOES then Dana and staff should be fired immediately for endangering the players and putting WVU at risk (see Maryland at the moment).

How many times later do the players admit they have hidden a concussion? Could be he is so worried about his stats that he doesn't want to throw it away. But I think there is more to it, There is time before the next game to right the ship, but if this great offense doesn't turn it around Baylor will have its lunch, they hung with Texas till the end. Texas is not the same team that lost to MD.

It looked like the three picks last week got in Grier's head so bad that he completely changed his attitude and was afraid to throw the ball. I felt that Grier should have been sat last week in the second half, poor decision making the last two and a half games. I hope the Grier for Heisman WWW disappears this week, that is done!!!

IMO... Grier for Heisman was gone with the 3 INT’s and fumble against KU. That was a 4 TO game against an inferior opponent.

Again... it is just my opinion... but Grier has failed to develop as a QB. Last year, he used his... gunslinger mentality as my buddy Slaton likes to say... to throw a deep ball... sometimes into double coverage to his trusted WR... over taking the easy out to a wide open receiver 5-10 yds out. He did that all of the time last year... but, he mostly got away with it. We’d read how confident he was in his arm... how confident he was in his receiver.

Dana and Spav said their work with him in the offseason was to make sure he kept drives alive this year. Our 3rd down conversion was poor last year, and it needed to improve. They reviewed film with him to show him he left a lot of plays on the field by not checking down to someone.

Last night was another example of this. Instead of hitting guys who were open at the first down marker, he went for the home run on a number of 3rd down attempts.

Prior to the game, I was texting Slaton. I said, Will should expect a defense similar to KU. They will drop 8 a bunch to test his patience. Will needed to be more like the QB he was against KSU doing this to him... than he was last week against KU.

Will’s game management has gone to shit. And, our coaches have to do something to get it right.

I thought great progress was made in 3rd down efficiency until last night. WVU was right up there nationally in 3rd down conversions, we had yet to be behind in a game. The gunslinger mentality drives me crazy, low percentage passes are not an effective game plan....like you said, when you have a great receiver, you can get away with it, to a point. I am hoping the coaches can get it ironed out, or what was lined up to be a special season could end up as a dud, keep playing like last night and there is not another win on the season!!!!!

Honestly I don't think it happens that much these days. I know Trickett did a few years ago and I'm sure it DOES happen but I don't think that's whats going on with Grier and like I say if Dana and co. have another instance of a hidden concussion then we will have huge problems off the field at WVU

I expect a W vs Baylor, Baylor is not good. HOWEVER, Baylor was terrible last year and nearly beat us with a healthy Will Grier. Agree on Texas but their QB got hurt, dunno how bad but he didn't return yesterday.

All that said a win over a bad Baylor team doesn't do much for me and wont prove anything except we are back... to being able to beat terrible teams again,.

The expectation for me in this down year for the Big12 was 10 or more wins, at least an appearance in the CCG and huge stats for the offense and WG and a possible Heisman run or at least a seat in NY but.... imo that's all gone judging on what I've seen the last 3 games.

They are ranked 13th one win back in the top 10. Plenty of football left. Easy does it that the season is in the shitter ... far from it

Good to see you!

End of a special year... that’s for sure.

Fucking Iowa St sits in the driver seat if we lose to OU and they run the rest of the season. That’s how big the loss to ISU is...

We've played one complete game. I don't have confidence that this team can play consistently.

No way ISU runs the table. I really don't think they are that good and they have a lot of big games left to play as well.
