Bell is a great talent but to commit that kind of money to the RB position on top of what McKinnon makes is just too much to invest. I would rather spend that kind of money on a cornerback or edge rusher if any become available.

I believe McKinnon's deal is easier to get out of.

The Steelers are cheap in this? Wrong. They've offered the highest contract ever for an RB (numbers around the D. Johnson and T. Gurley contracts, so the whole 'he wants to be paid like the best RB and #2 receiver is moot) the past two seasons and Bell turned them down. Why? From my understanding is that the guaranteed money wasn't to Bell's liking. What do I say to Bell? Too bad, dumbass.

Had you showed up to camp and pre-season - like Johnson and OBJ - the Steelers probably would've been more inclined to deal. Had you NOT been suspended multiple times...the Steelers probably would've trusted you more and been more inclined to make a deal with more guaranteed money.

What he wants to get paid isn't mute. He can decide to show up when ever he want's. They are using like both the #2 WR and 1# RB so he should expect to be paid more than D. Johnson or T. Gurley. Sure he has been suspended but at the end of the day his suspension was really for something minor to today's society. If he got hurt in training camp do you think the Steelers would have lowered their offer I sure do. I don't feel bad what so ever for the Steelers or their billionaire owners trying to get him to sign as cheaply as they can and it blowing up in their face. We don;t know how these negotiations have gone they could have offered him a low ball offer to start with and he might have said f&%@ you and not wanted to sign with them after that people's ego's can cause such things especially when you feel like you've given everything to a team or organization and then they try to treat you that way. In any contract dispute I'm going to side with the players as they are the ones that are putting their health on the line to make the owners money and should try to make as much as they can while they can.

Sure we need both CB and or passrusher more
They claim to have been serious players in the Mack saga.
Do you know of any other similar players that might be cast off ?
Not many backs (if any) are better the Bell right now and, he's rumored to be available now

'Only a 3rd?' SF needs all the draft commodity it can get for positions they truly need. I wouldn't want Bell for a 7th, given what he's demanding, how he's gone about his business in Pittsburgh, and the fact he's been suspended multiple times. He's a 'me-first' cancer who offers little to a team whose season is practically over from a competitive angle.

Edge rushers, DB's...those have to be the priorities.
But he loves his mother.

All irrelevant, and a lot of it factually incorrect.

Bottom line is, for any franchise to give in to Bell's demands is idiotic...and I don't want to see SF be that idiotic franchise.

Which part is factually incorrect?
He had 85 receptions for 655 yards and 2 TDS receiving. That is pretty close to #2 WE stars and he carried the ball over three hundred times I believe enough to be 400 touches maybe a little more. I'm not saying pay him AN money he won't get that but 15 -16 a year over three or four years he can get.

The 'cheap Steelers' reference. Again...they were ready to sign Bell to the highest contract ever offered to an RB - the numbers I've read were $70M over 5 years with an opportunity to make $45 in the first 3 years. Apparently what turned Bell off was the paltry $10M guaranteed....but if he wasn't so much of a dumbass as his history has proven, he probably gets a bigger cut up front.

It's all irrelevant anyways....him, his talent and his history ain't worth a 3rd round draft pick. Period. Let some other team get rolled. That's the point.

10 million is a low number when you consider the figures being discussed. The contract is really only worth the guaranteed money so yes the Steelers were being cheap and it insulted him. If you for a second believe they wouldn't dump him and only pay the guaranteed money if Bell got hurt you are fooling yourself. His off field issues are the only thing that causes me any kind of doubt. A player of his caliber is worth a 3rd round pick.

Based on talent and production he's proven to be worth much much more than a 3rd
Even if you add his baggage and salary demands he well worth a 3rd

I look at value in the position. As good as Bell is I don't see giving up high draft capital and giving him QB type money when the 49ers are already paying McKinnon a big chunk of change. There will be a couple of good CBs possibly hitting the FA market this offseason. I would rather go after them

A 3rd round pick doesn't qualify as a high draft pick to me
So it's a matter whether the Yorks will open up thier fat purse

You are completely disregarding the fact that he's been suspended twice in the NFL. Again...before you respond with the 'it's only minor in today's society' nonsense...they are the rules, period. He could've made up to $45 million in the first three years ($15 per year)...assuming he's there. His guaranteed money is tied directly to his stupidity in that he can't be trusted. He owns that. It's on him...too effin' bad.

You can defend that stupidity if you wish....but it's still stupid.

a player has to look at the what if I get injured badly what would happen and that is the Steelers cut my a$$ and I only make the remaining guaranteed money. His two suspensions may well be why they tried to low ball him but he has every right to refuse that and tell them he'll sign else where because someone will give him more guaranteed money than that. Basically you b believe there Steelers have every right to protect themselves but Bell does not. It's his health on the line so I don't blame him one bit.

Again...irrelevant. He'd get market value guaranteed had he not been an idiot. He's free to do whatever he wishes....he can hold out for whatever he wishes. It still has nothing to do with the Steelers being cheap.

Sure it does the Steelers know he'll get more on the open market and tried to sign him to less using the off field issues as a reason. They they really wanted to keep him long term they would have. They dont.

They don't want him to stay long term....when they offered the highest contract ever? Uh huh. Again...the dumbassery is on Bell and Bell alone. His stupidity cost him the guaranteed money...not the Steelers 'cheapness.' You are free to defend his stupidity...I am done on this.
