I think sometimes you get more from Stockton than you would expect,

I think back then, the media didn't ask Stockton much.

Because whenever they would actually ask him something, I'd see some funny moments.

I remember some clip from the mid 90s about when they were developing the game NBA Jam (I think, or maybe another basketball video game), they mentioned something specific about what it was like creating Stockton's image. And then Stockton shared what it was like. I don't remember the details.

But it was another example of how if you ask him, he'll share some.

I think if that article had said "when asked how the meeting meant, Sloan declined to share details", that would have been more satisfying. Because at least I would think, "that's Sloan".

And I would know the journalists made an attempt.

So then your answer is yes, right? Just kidding. I asked you if you would've felt the article was OK if it simply said that he was declining comment. I bet he did and they just didn't add that part or they purposely did not ask him because that was part of the deal to meet with Williams. That it would be basically private.

My answer is that I don't trust articles on Jazz.com to be objective and thorough.

The same goes for most sports organizations official websites.

There are some 3rd party journalists that cover the Jazz that I trust to be objective and thorough, and others I don't.

I also don't think it's about asking what they talked about. That can be private.

Basically, my question is, "are you happy, Jerry"? (cue the Frasier episode).

Or, "do you think you'll meet again"?

A "Yes" would mean it was a good meeting. A "We haven't talked that far ahead" could mean either way. That's ok too.

At least that's some insight, even if it's still inconclusive.

I wouldn't put it past the Jazz if the meeting went terrible, but the writer left that part out. If the meeting went terrible, I think the official Jazz.com would try to protect all parties, rather than actually report it.

A "Jerry declined to elaborate further" would be good.

Happy Birthday, Jerry Sloan!

Is there a picture of him with the mountains?

Also, I don't need to wait until July 24th for you to post a Karl Malone picture with the mountains, either.

Can you post that too?

Sloan is mentioned multiple times.

First, as being the first player that then scout Jerry Krause got drafted.

2nd, as being one of the two greatest competitors. You can probably guess who Krause says is the other greatest competitor.

Former NBA broadcaster and GM Jerry Reynolds mentions something Norm Van Lier said, when playing with Jerry Sloan. While Van Lier himself was considered tough, he said played like that because even he was scared of Jerry Sloan, so he had to keep up with the way Jerry played. He didn't want to get on Jerry's bad side, while playing with him on the Bulls. So he had to play as tough as Jerry.

What would Sloan be doing if he didn’t play or coach? Hint: It’s not

What rule would Sloan change if he could?
Hint: It’s not about fouls being called differently.

Were Williams and Sloan seen together in recent years? Since Williams has been back a few times, as a guest commentator for a few minutes.

Were they both ever back for the same game?

Do you think Coach Sloan would be in State Farm commercials, like Andy Reid? If asked, would he say yes?
