The sort of odd double win at East Lake yesterday.

Tiger...he leaked a little oil coming in, but -11 was good enough to take the trophy by 2 shots. Tiger's 1st win in 5 seasons gets him to 80 total...I still think that might be a couple shy of the all-time record that Snead holds for PGAT tour wins.

Rose...by virtue of Tiger winning and him coming in no worse than T5, Justin wins the big $10 mil check for the season long Fed Cup race.

I think next year they have reworked the formula yet again and the winner of the Tour Championship will win the FedEx Cup as well.

Found some clarification. Rose would have won both, and Tiger and D. Johnson would have finished tied for 2nd. Mickelson would still finish last -

Funny thing is Bones Mackay told Rose's caddie with a few holes to go, where they stood.
A new format needs to have a separate scoreboard for the fedex cup standings.

Yep as I mentioned in another thread. Some folks have also told me that this would be true in many other years.

In case anyone missed it - scroll down to the bottom of the link I posted to see the outcome from yesterday if they used the 2019 rules.

Well it will be 100% obvious next year since the standings in the tourney will be exactly the same as the overall FedEx standings. Might not be fair or make sense to some but the results will be obvious.

Okay...I did see that earlier on the TV coverage, but never paid attention to it since it was effecting next year.

PGA Tour releases revamped schedule for the 2019 season - Golf Digest

Just so many things changing for the PGA tour next year. FedEx Cup will use different system, consist of only 3 events & be done before any football is played (just imagine the ratings yesterday if it were before football season). The PGA tourney will be in May, Players in March & British Open will be last major of year. Wow - quite a few changes at once.

Haven’t watch a lot of golf since the PGA but I’m glad Tiger won. Highlight were pretty good.

God Bless the Hoop where I am free to say that my yay Tiger finally won joy is offset by the fact that he's colossal scumbag as a person.

I've been restricted and moderated at both The Sand Trap and Golf WRX forums for saying that. No profanity, no rules broken, but at golf site forums, you may only fellate Tiger. No criticism is allowed.

It's truly pathetic.
