Personally I think deGrom has pulled ahead. Even with wins supposedly not meaning as much. He's starting to pile those up so the total doesn't look as embarrassing.

ESPN had a good article comparing the 3 pitcher who basically are the top 3 in like all the categories with deGrom always being top 2.

Each guy being in the NL East means they face similar opponents throughout the season. deGrom faces the Nats/PHillies instead of the Mets tho so his opponents have been slightly tougher.

Nola and DeGrom have a lower ERA than Scherzer. But, that is the only stat category in which those two lead Scherzer. Scherzer is still tops in K/9, WHIP and BAA. They are going to have to do better than just ERA to beat out Scherzer for the CY.

Right now the order should be:
Scherzer
DeGrom
Nola

It's too bad that such fine seasons from DeGrom and Nola will go unrewarded, but they won't be the first to suffer that fate.

I don't think that's the case...per Baseball Reference, 3 of the 4 categories that DeGrom beats Scherzer in are variations of ERA (ERA, ERA+, FIP), with the other being HR/9.

Those stats are all different than ERA tho and it’s why they use them.

deGrom aslo wins in Fangraphs WAR

And I don’t remember all the stats but espn has an article comparing the 3 and it has deGrom leading a ton and like always top 2

Also deGrom leading stats involving 7 innings and 2 runs or less. Shit like that I always see.

Guy has just been machine.

Cy Yoibg goes to the best pitcher and that is DeGrom. I'll argue to the death on MVP not going to a guy on a shitty team because I think valuable insinuates team success. The Cy Young has no such pretext.

I'm surprised Mikolas and Freeland arent getting more love. Mikolas haa been great and turned into the ace of a likely playoff team. Freelands ERA is a run higher than deGrom but dude pitches in Colorado. Every time we debate MVP we dock Rockies guys because "well yeah hes got great stats but he plays half his games in Colorado" . If we dock their hitters for playing there we should add points to their pitchers for having to pitch there
