I would like to get something that could benefit us. But maybe we should just stick it to him and trade him to somewhere like Detroit for a 4th or 5th just to say, here's how much you mean to us, Le'Veon.

Yeah I know you'd like something for him and you will get something but with all the headache's he's caused might as well just get rid of him

I think we should just get rid of him and give up the 3rd in 2020 to just end it right here and now. That was my initial opinion.

Screw Bell, he'll never be happy, no matter how much money he gets. He has demonstrated to the world he is the "me" in team, and any GM with an ounce of sense will see him as an often hurt, take yourself out of the game, locker room cancer awaiting his year long suspension for smoking dope who cannot be depended upon.

This^^^^^^^^^^^^^^This right here is why you get shit on here.

Your initial opinion was get a first round draft pick......

If we trade him, it's gonna be worth it for it. Don't just trade him to get rid of him. If a 1st isn't offered don't even listen to it. Hang the phone up.

Then you changed it to possibly a second....idk maybe, just maybe you thought your initial opinion was wrong. But now you've went completely off the grid and said, just dump him. The Steelers deserve some compensation for his bullshit. If it's only a third rounder, with it. But all means if Pittsburgh allows him to sign his tender, they don't have to dress him, play him, hell they can tell him to stay home....But bringing someone in now isn't going to help, so yes a 2020 pick is better than nothing.

My initial opinion on the topic wasn't shared on here. I don't see news and the first thing I do is come on here to talk about it.

When he posted that bullshit "a thank you would go a long way" tweet, I said just fucking cut his ass. Then I read the news that they are actually fielding offers and I said well, we might as well get something for him and a team without a RB would pay a decent price for him. Then, after decent discussion on here, I changed my opinion from a 1st to a 2nd, but also said that if we can't get something that we need, we should just release him and fork over that 3rd round pick in 2020.

You just can't see where you bring on your own problems.
So this will be my last post of civility towards you.
Your very first (initial) statement on bell was to pay him.
You ended up in several arguments in that thread, then come in this thread and end up in many more.

Funniest part is you have arguments all the damn time with everyone on the board.....Yet you feel I have the issue.
You don't listen to anything that doesn't match your opinion. Nothing. ATL and FACE are two guys that know their Shit inside out and backwards about this team, but you've been disrespectful to even them. You DO NOT get respect, you earn it. Yet every thread in the Steelers board, you've argued and been a complete self centered ass to someone. I can and do get along with everyone here, except you with your disrespectful bullshit. You have argued and disrespected everyone at least once.....

Maybe we should all tell on you when you get your shit twisted. But it's the internet, grow a pair or get the fuck out.
Seriously, wake the fuck up.

As it stands now...the Steelers are on a path to get a compensation pick for Bell once he signs his FA deal next year. That pick is most likely going to be the highest you can get which from my understanding is a 3rd round pick.

That's what you don't cut him, and you let this play out however Bell wishes in terms of when he comes back, blah, blah....that's all he's worth to the team at this point, but that's better than nothing.

Trade...if you're TB, NYJ, one of these teams that have the cap space and the need for a RB. Assuming you can work out the long term deal with Bell, why would you offer PIT a 1st round pick when you know they have zero leverage...the best deal they have on the table is a 3rd rd comp and iirc that would be a 2020 pick.

I would start with a 3rd rd 2019 pick and that might be my best offer.

Agreed. Timing is shitty. But who knows. Some teams might still be willing to bite.

With all of their dirty laundry out in the open, the best I think will be a 3 or 4th rounder....not a whole lot better than the comp pick position.

I see that. It just doesn't feel okay to just get a 3rd round pick for Bell. This whole situation just sucks, I guess.

I'm kinda passed the suck stage now...to be honest I kinda bought into the social media hype, it seemed like Bell was going to sign long term. Otherwise, yes, if they pursued a trade back around draft time...I think they could've certainly gotten more than a 3rd round pick....1st round? IDT so, not with him on a franchise tag.

As far as now...I'm for whatever they can get for Bell so a 3rd rd pick in 2019 I'd rather over a 3rd rd comp pick in 2020.

I bought into it to. I really thought we were gonna get him under contract before the season started. Now I'm wondering if talks were actually improving like the team and Le'Veon said they were or of that was just bullshit.

I've seen people blasting the Steeler team for putting Bell's contract situation out there...iirc it was Bell that was putting stuff out there...like 'we're closer this time', etc...I think the Steelers responded the best they felt they could and they got the contract to a annual salary that Bell wanted...that might have been driving those comments from Bell...BS? IDK, I do know, at the end of the day they could not get pen to paper.

I do think he took the Steelers for a loop when he didn't report week one.

Yes, Bell was the one posting on social media about the negotiations and what not. As much as I just wanted the team to pay Bell, it doesn't change the fact that Bell made this so much more than what it needed to be.

All this trade talk is fine but is anyone sure that Bell can pass the physical to make any trade official??? We all know at a minimum he's out of shape and we saw this offseason several teams or maybe just the Ravens suddenly find mystery issues during the physical to invalidate FA signings/trades. My fear is if we trade him to a team he doesn't want to play for or he thinks won't pay him enough (most likely) he purposely fails the physical to invalidate the trade. What happens then??????

Hmm that's interesting. I haven't even thought about that. I'm sure he'll be able to pass a physical but that brings up a very good topic of discussion. Imagine all this holding out and other shit and he's finally given a chance to play and given a chance to get paid and the fucker doesn't even pass the physical. Wouldn't that be some shit??
