Completely forgot about Blazing Saddles.

They couldn’t do comedy like that nowadays.
I just watched that again a few months back.

It was hilarious, but it was kinda uncomfortable as well. Even for people who can’t stand PC/SJW culture, we are so firmly trained that we still cringe.

Sad. That movie was pointing out how stupid those views are. How ignorant they are. It was true comedy.

Ace Ventura is my favorite comedy of all-time, but probably not the funniest. I was in college when Will Ferrell and Vince Vaughn were at the top of their movie game, so I hold those movies in high regard, comedically. I loved Robin Hood:Men In Tights further back in the day.

It's either Animal House or Blazing Saddles, but both were the funniest movies ever made

Holy Grail

I hate to leave out Stripes, Caddyshack, Austin Powers and Airplane (just to name a few), but Holy Grail is the, um, holy grail of comedies.

The Grail was great but gets even better the more you talk with others about the great lines. THOSE last forever.

Funniest movie when I first saw it?

The Odd Couple had me in tears.

Of course Animal House, Ghostbusters, It's a Mad, Mad World, Stripes, Caddyshack are near the top as well.

I actually haven’t seen It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World in probably over 20 years (30 years?). I absolutely LOVED it when I watched it as a kid. The remake (Rat Race) was not nearly as good.

Exactly. I just thought of another movie just like that that I also loved as a kid.

The Great Race? Awesome movie.

My favorite comedy is This Is The End (4.5/5 stars), followed by Horrible Bosses (4.5/5 stars) and Pineapple Express (4.5/5 stars). I remember loving The Hangover when it came out, but didn't rate it. I don't watch a whole ton of comedies though.

Yep, I remember the whole fam damily laughing at that movie. We all thought Apple Dumpling Gang was funny too, so take it FWIW.

The Odd Couple had me in tears.

OMG.... the scene in the diner when Felix (portrayed by Jack Lemmon) is attempting to clear his sinuses is frickin' hilarious. I bust out laughing every time I watch this scene:
