Stop the hype train wiggy. I want Mayfield to be the answer @ QB just like all other Browns fans. You're slobbering all over yourself & it was 1 game. Remember what Sam Darnold did the Lions D his 1st start?

Baker or LeBron? Nope. Right now my answer is Fransisco Lindor.
Its just a feel and i understand its without a doubt early- but the whole feel of the game changed. Its not just what Baker brings as a QB- all though his accuracy and ability to move around the pocket was phenomonal.

Its the fact that everything changed when he went in. The Browns were down 14-0, on national TV, about to be humiliated on national TV, again, the non-winning streak looked like it was going to get extended YET another game. A game they were FAVORED to win.

This kid comes in when the Browns are down 14-0. His first action of the year. He has not practiced with the first team AT ALL. In the post game- Joe Thomas said that the most impressive thing to him was he had really no chemistry with these guys- he had BARELY played with them.

But you just felt it. The crowd changed. The offense seemed to take it to another level. The Browns very young but very promising defense took it up another level. He looks to me like one of those guys that can make your whole team better because of his leadership- and there are not too many of those guys in the whole NFL. Guys believe in him.

It went from "Browns gonna Brown", or "Same ole Browns" to a feeling a of genuine excitedness and confidence because and only because of Baker going in and how everyone raises their game when he is out there.

I hope you are joking, because those other guys are all horrendous.

Mayfield might be good. But if you want to see a future superstar QB, go look in KC. Because Mahomes is the real thing. And I have been saying that since he got drafted.

Agree. I think Mayfield will be good. His ceiling is probably Russell Wilson level (which is pretty damn good). I'd say his floor is Johnny Fuckin' Football, but he's already accomplished more than JFF. lol

that and....while Myles Garret is a BEAST- the Browns best defensive lineman might be Larry Ogunjobi. The guy is ridiculous.

Ill tell ya- i Baker and Johhny could not be more different.

Johhny literally didnt know the playbook when he went into a game in November.

Baker knew more of the playbook after his first meeting with the Browns before they draftedh im than Johhny Manziel ever knew- and i know that sounds crazy but its almost definitely true.

Manziel literally never bothered to learn the plays. He just ran around like it was back yard football- in the NFL. It was a joke.

Dammit wiggy not another one of these comments! I don't have the attention span to read this right now. I'm fucking thirsty & pretty sure someone (or the dog) stole my Zig Zags.

Remind about this post in a few hours (before Ohio State's game though) & I'll read it later.

As @Wamu pointed out, it's one game.

Yes, he brought them back, it looked good, it was a lot of fun and the energy definitely changed. But you have to remember a couple of things....for one, the Jets aren't a very good team and 2, they had no film on Mayfield and had prepared for Taylor, not Mayfield. When the Browns are playing better teams who have prepared for Mayfield, then we'll start to see what he's really made of because that's when he'll struggle and have to make his own adjustments.

Like I said, I can't say his floor is JFF because he's already accomplished more (he's actually won a game).

But the styles are similar as far as the ability to move within the pocket, to keep a play alive and to make plays with his legs. That's what we've been watching Russell Wilson do since he came into the league and Mayfield looks to have that type of ability.

The fact that he's apparently a hard worker and takes it seriously (unlike JFF) bodes well for the Browns and Mayfield.

Exactly. And just like all rookies he'll have his up's & down's. But I can't judge him (or any other NFLer) after just 1 game. Wait, a half of a game basically. He did look good though. I'm more interested in seeing where he's at in 7 or 8 weeks.

We still don't know if Garoppolo is great, good, or ok. Same with even Derek Carr. And those guys are far from rookies. Way too soon to decide on Mayfield but then again, Wiggy is a fan doing what fans do and that's totally ok. You're supposed to get hyped for your guys and that game was the first time Browns fans could get hyped in a long time. @WiggyRuss is doing it right.

I'm just not that kind of fan. I can't get overly excited until I see him play more. But if Thursdays game was any type of indication of what could happen it's a step in the right direction to turning things around. It's weird to be 3 weeks into the season & not see the Browns in last place in the AFCn.

If the Browns win another game I'm gonna celebrate like they made the playoffs.

What no NBA talk? I'm surprised nobody has mentioned Jimmy Butler not wanting to play w/ LeBron. Some of you are slipping! Perfect chance to talk some shit & people are out getting a last minute summer tan or something. This place has changed.:tsk:
