GO LAKERS! But I hate LeBron. Isn't that a sad situation?
There are players who came to the Lakers, whom I was not a fan of prior, but once they put on that Lakers uniform, they are Lakers. And i cheer for all of our players. You are making it a sad situation for you IMO

I didn't say I wouldn't cheer for him as a Laker. It was like when the Rams kept putting Tony Banks out there as their starting QB. I hated da player but I still hoped he would win.

I don't think Ball has gotten physically strong enough yet for the pro game and the usual egomanical maniac in his life is the prime suspect!

He's put on a lot of muscle in the offseason to help that out. Lots of upper body stuff since he was rehabbing his knee.

Not only that, but he has also apparently "cleaned up" his shooting motion.

I read an article this morning where Magic described his shot as "beautiful".

I take that with a bit of a grain of salt because, as any Lakers fan knows, Magic can be a little over the top with his positivity sometimes. lol

But according to the article...

"The new motion has traces of the old motion but cleaned up: The Lakers like that he sets more to the center than he used to, and General Manager Rob Pelinka thinks the release is a little less clunky...It's not the only thing Ball has worked on, of course: Johnson cited Ball's rapt attention for film study, including a few sessions with Magic himself. While he spent the summer recovering from knee surgery, he was often in the team's weight room, watching his teammates play scrimmages on the court, etc."

From the short videos I've seen of it, he's gotten rid of that weird hitch in the starting motion where it looks like he's taking the ball from his hip up past the side of his head to start his shot. It now starts up around his shoulders. It still looks a little wonky because it still sort of a sideways start but it doesn't look totally busted like it did before. We'll see if it leads to more made shots but at the very least, he should be able to get his shot off quicker this way. One of his big problems last year was he could really only shoot if he was wide ass open because his shot motion takes too long.

Well, I hope that these reports are factual and not exaggerated to the point of being fantasy for both the sakes of the Lakers (and fans) and Lonzo himself. The more Lonzo can distance himself from that egomaniaical twit a.k.a his father as a matter of progressing and maturing in the pro game, the better for him and him and then by extension the Lakers and their fans.

Yeah, starting from a higher release point should help. Last season he was essentially having to rush his shot because of the slow "windup" that he had.

That was fine at UCLA when he was mostly playing against guys who were going to make their living doing something other than playing basketball.

But in the NBA, it was rush the shot, or get it thrown into the stands.

Agreed. Jamaal Wilks had an awkward release when he first came from college and he got with some serious shot coaches with Lakers under Sharman/West and look what he did his entire career. Same will be for Lonzo.

Like Wilks, Lonzo was a good shooter in college, so i think with minor changes, he will be fine.
