Observations on 2 rookies after week 3. Nothing more. I'd say the hype is warranted at this point

I with you.

I saw 2 different looking QBs out there.

One seemed ready for prime time, the other not so much.

I can't see how Hue Jackson is saying he'd have to look at tape to see who starts next week.

At the very least, barring injury to Mayfield, Taylor should have started his last game in Cleveland.

Playing for the Jets, chances are high that he will have some really bad games before it's all over. Mayfield too, for that matter

"Before its all over" ? You mean when they pull stakes and leave the big apple for San Diego, leaving only the Giants in town? Sad day for New York!

At least they'll still have hockey there

I think if the Jets leave they need to go into exile.
Like one of the Dakotas or Montana or something

I have zero idea how he plays as I don't do college football.

But I've sort of seen the other first rounders play now and I'd like to see him too.

He gets his ass kicked, and then pulls himself out of the game, is how he plays.

The city of Cleveland will revolt if he doesn’t start Mayfield. There’s no chance Taylor starts this week. If he does, Jackson will have coached his last game with the Browns.

Interesting how Darnold looked pretty solid in that Lions game, where everything went right for the Jets, and folks were saying what a great pick he was.

Last night, it's Mayfield looking good in relief of a mediocre QB, and everyone's on HIS jock this morning, while at the same time saying "look at how shitty Darnold is"

Let's all wait & see. Both of them could probably play way worse and way better than they did last night.

Good points Aldo. Goff looked like shit the 7 games he played his first season, time and play will tell

The Jets gameplanned for car part until he was his usual shit and took a bump on his noggin. I haven't watched much of either (last time I watched a Jet/Cle. game was the 86 'offs) but there may be something about Mayfield in that he just has that 'it' factor.

^ Yep and Aikmen was 0-11 and was benched for Steve Walsh his rookie year.
Brett Favre didn't complete a pass and was third string to Chris Miller and Billy Joe Tolliver.

Steve Young didn't win more than 5 games in a season until his 8th year in the league, at 31.

Darnold is The youngest man ever to start Game 1 of a season at QB. He has plenty of time.

Just for the sake of sharing, I feel Kizer is in a better spot to succeed longterm this year, as a backup, than he was last year, as a starter.
