So basically what Cleveland should have done with Kyrie. But also could just be a ploy to extract more value. I'd say the chances of him landing with the Knicks, Nets or Clips is going to be on the lower end of the spectrum.

The difference he is a free agent at end of season. Kyrie wasn't a FA until another 2 seasons which is why Cleveland was incredibly stupid for trading him last year

I find it amazing both teams traded damaged goods PGs.

The Cavs knew kyrie needed surgery too.

Funny thing is, if they let him have it, he woudl've been back and presumably healthy for the playoffs last year.

If i'm Minny i'm pushing for Zaire smith.

If I'm GS I'm offering Iggy, Bell and some firsts lol

LOL, I'm all for JB being our 6th man, but I doubt he'd like that situation. It'd probably cause more harm than anything, in addition to the 76ers laughing at that offer.

But yeah, Minny should push for Zhaire Smith too, but that's too much to give up on JB, given that Fultz (IMO) still has a lot of upside.

Butler is a B-list star on par with Paul George. Overhyped by the media in the same way. You will never do anything if Butler is your 1A or 1B. Let this thread die already.

Butler would be an excellent #2 on a contending team. That's crazy to say he wouldn't be. Him, Kawhi and Klay (IMO) make up the three best two way players in the NBA. He's definitely relevant to be discussed and where he could go. If he went to Philly, that changes the entire landscape of the East. If you had him, Simmons, Covington, Saric and Embiid as a starting lineup, from a athlete standpoint it matches up really well with the Warriors, even at their peak. It would give them two elite wing defenders in him and Covington as well as great rim protection with Embiid. It gives them another 20 PPG scorer who doesn't have to be the focal point.

If that's not worth of conversation, then we might as well just shut the board down.

Butler and Kawhi in lac is just brutal defensively for the rest of the league.

Hope they hit on their pg and hope their reach of a 2nd lottery pick isn’t exposed too bad so you can deal him for a key part as well.

Wolves are telling teams they plan to keep Butler. Story on espn

@Mecca
So, do you think Thibbs will make it past the weekend?

Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor has become fully engaged in the decision-making process on a potential Butler tradeand is far more open to the idea of orchestrating a deal than president of basketball operations Tom Thibodeau and GM Scott Layden, league sources said.

Opposing teams believe the fastest avenue to a Butler deal is engaging Taylor, league sources said. Taylor is attending the NBA’s Board of Governors meetings today in New York, which include owners and top basketball executives.

I wouldn't say he is overhyped by the media. You would never see Butler in any top 10 players list. Most people would have him 15-25

And everyone thought he would turn the Wolves into a 4 or 5 seed playoff team and they barely snuck in and got smoked by Houston. Granted Houston was really good. If he went to Philly I think I would still take Boston and Toronto over them. Ben Simmons is a hype machine that can’t shoot beyond the paint and Embiid still only plays every third game or so. If those two were on the Suns they wouldn’t be getting recognized for shit but they play in a big market East coast team so now they are viewed as the second coming at their positions.

I agree that he is not a #1 and is in the Paul George category.

But, in fairness....

The Wolves were in 4th place before he went down and the 4th thru 9th seeds were only separated by a game of two.

He went down and they went on a losing streak that dropped them to 8th.

Acquired from the Bulls during the offseason, Butler is one of the biggest reasons the Wolves were 10 games over .500 entering Saturday and in fourth place in the Western Conference standings. The Wolves, who have 19 games remaining in the regular season, have not made the playoffs in 13 seasons.

I think the Twolves should get rid of Thibbs & replace him w/ Papa Ball. What could go w/ that?

Not to forget that Teague tanked his first year in Minny.

So we're just going to ignore that they were a 4 seed before his injury?

If you think Jimmy Butler was the problem, then you need to catch up on T-Wolves basketball. Not even the Wolves fans in here are bashing him, but the remaining roster minus him and their coaching staff.

Also Simmons and Embiid are the real deal. Hate to break it to you. Embiid is what you would hope Ayton turns out to be. And additionally, no team would take any suns player, including Booker over Simmons.
