@flyerhawk is a stand up guy... I'm sure he would have paid me every last nickel of that $10 billion... no matter what he had to do... or how many tricks he would have had to turn.

Takeaways from Brett Brown's media luncheon, an appetizer...

Gated article but here is the interesting part.
150,000? Did he really just say 150,000?

Yes, Brown mentioned that Markelle Fultz took about 150,000 shots while working out this summer, primarily in Southern California with Drew Hanlen. If Fultz started the day after the season ended (unlikely) and went until today, that would come out to 1,154 shots per day.

“That’s a big number,” Brown said. “And when I would speak to him and get texts from him — I’m in a gym, it’s 11:30 at night, it’s 8 in the morning. He put in time. And when I see him now come back into our gym and you look at his swagger, his cocky side, his mojo, he’s seeking shots. He really is not bashful. That in itself is a powerful statement that I’m making.”

That's a hella number of shots per day.

If he worked out 5 hours every day up to now that's about 4 shots a minute. I guess it's possible, but....

I have a friend who is a huge Philly fan (admittedly a bit of a homer) and who has a couple buddies who are team insiders.

He told me that with the way Fultz's shot looks right now, the question is not whether or not he will be able to shoot at the NBA level, but whether he will be a good shooter or a great one. Expect Fultz to be a completely different player.

Also, he tells Ben Simmons has been consistently knocking down corner 3s during their pick up games. The future here is still insanely bright.

In the article, it says that Fultz was consistently in the gym all day long(up at 8, practicing till 11 at times)

I dunno if he actually took that many shots or not but I'm guessing he took a heck of a lot.

Brown also said that Embiid has worked heavily on his aggression. From the Athletic article..

The Athletic said:
During the first healthy summer of his NBA career, Brown said Embiid “blew me away” with his workouts in California. In particular, the Sixers coach pointed out the “bully ball” mentality that Hanlen is on record saying they focused on this offseason.

“That’s who he is, he plays hard,” Brown said. “And everything that I’ve seen from an action standpoint is mirrored to his words and it’s connected to his health. I think he’s going to be dominant this year. I really think that Joel Embiid is going to be dominant this year.”

Certainly a very exciting time to be a Sixers fan.

We should know within a week. The first time the media gets to see one of their practices, there will be a mad rush to provide video of them shooting from any kind of distance.

No doubt about that.

It's encouraging to me that Brown sounds super high on Fultz right now, although he did say this "“When I look at the actual form, there are times from a posture standpoint, he’s a little bit backwards,” Brown said. “When you look at him rising up or getting the ball in his shot pocket, there are times his head will go back and he’ll play a little more out of a fade type of environment, a fade type of fundamental that we’ll try to correct.”

Low release point, but if he's going to get open threes, so long as they go in.
I like his confidence and he's going to need it.
If he gets anywhere near 14/5/5/1/1, I'll take it.

We'll know a lot more soon enough but the videos were all of the catch and shoot variety. It'll be interesting to see how his pull up looks like since I think that will be his bread and butter given the rest of his game.

Oh, baby, youuuuuuuuuuuuu.
You got wut I neeeeeeeeeeeeedddd.
But you say he's just a friend.....

At his point, either your ears will start bleeding or your intestines will spring forth from your bowels and throttle your brain in a sheer act of defiance and/or self-preservation. Difficult to say....

After watching this video of Markelle in the lower left corner :
1) It has to be edited. Right? Right???!!!!!!!
2) Maybe he needs an exorcist
3) I really hope they find something and the kid gets treated

Just keeps getting more bizarre.

FYI,

I can get up 100 shots in about 10 minutes without a rebounder.

With someone or a machine rebounding, an NBA player could easily get 1000 shots in about an hour and a half.

Even as a rival you can still feel bad for this kid. Not sure how he has not turned into a pro player. Some rags are saying he wants a new start ...............looks like he needs to get his wrist healed now.

He does need a new team. Sixers don't need him now, and he needs to be under less pressure. Trade him to a lottery team for a 3 point shooter.
