I know I am becoming a little obsessed, but they are in the division, they have so much they could do, have done, continue to do to reshape their upcoming season. We as Bengal fans never get to see that kind of change. So I guess I am a little obsessed / jealous thinking how different they are making themselves.

QB Tyrod Taylor
RB Carlos Hyde
WR Jarvis Landry
CB Damarious Randall

They are trading Danny Shelton to the Patriots for a 5th.

They have tons of money, and many top end draft picks.

Now, they go and Sign DT Suh to be on their DL who is being released by the Dolphins.

They draft QB Josh Rosen with the #1 pick.

They trade #4 to Buffalo for #12 and #22, along with a 2nd rounder next year.

They then draft Vita Vea DT at #12, and with Vea and Suh in the middle, they have the shortest named DT's in the league and the biggest!

They then draft at #22 CB Jaire Alexander or Josh Jackson.

They will have officially made over their offense and defense in one season with a potential franchise QB grooming in the wings and learning from Tyrod while learning Hue Jackson's system.

This is not even including all the picks they are to acquire from the 2nd round on with like 11 or 12 total picks. NUTS!

Seriously, if Cleveland pulls off that mess, it is probably the greatest offseason for one team in NFL history.

Its the greatest offseason since their last greatest offseason.

Until the Browns (or any team for that matter) can demonstrate an ability to actually develop draft picks, they will not be good. There is a good reason that teams like New England and Pittsburgh, despite picking late in every round, continue to make the postseason every damn year. And it's not because they won an offseason.

It is because they have a franchise QB leading their team.

Ding, ding, ding, ding..... And what do the Browns do? They draft garbage qbs or acquire garbage qbs off the street.

You could also argue it's because those teams have stability in the coaching staff. Something the Browns know nothing about.

So, if the Browns draft Rosen #1, trade down from #4 to #12 and #22. They then draft Vea, and Alexander along with signing Suh to help anchor the interior of that line.

Do you think the Browns had not gone about the offseason in the right way? What could they have done differently since Cousin's had zero interest in coming to Cleveland?

QB Tyrod Taylor
RB Carlos Hyde
WR Jarvis Landry
CB Damarious Randall
DT N. Suh
DT Vita Vea
CB Jaire Alexander
QB Josh Rosen

Plus, they still have all of their picks from the 2nd round on.

Seriously, what on earth could they have done better in the offseason?

Plus, they have Garrett on their DL who looks to be a stud. They have a quality offensive line, although they could use a replacement for Thomas now. Gordon is back, at least for now. In his 4-5 games he had at the end of last year, he did pretty decent considering he had a QB that could not get the ball to anyone.

Suh isn't signing with the Browns.

I won't argue about what they do or don't do this offseason. But, I'll tell you what is going to happen..... Expectations will become unrealistic for a team that isn't ready yet. They'll win 4 or 5 games and the ownership will decide that Hue Jackson is the problem. They'll fire him and start over. They'll begin with a new coach that doesn't like all the personnel that was selected under the old regime and they will start trading players for picks.

Lather, rinse, repeat.

word is someone is going to trade for burfict. I can't imagine he'll continue to play for us voluntarily and if a serious team is trying to obtain him he'll probably make it clear that he'll refuse to play for the Bengals if he's not traded. maybe we'll get a few picks.

Why? The Bengals have now given him 3 contracts. Marvin Lewis does nothing but apologize for him. He has the best gig going. He'll be a Bengal for life.

Anyone with any talent is trying to get out of this shit hole. If a serious team is offering trades and he hears about it, he's out of here. This is the worst franchise in all of pro sports, he'll find a way to leave.

Hell, AJ Green nearly lost his mind last season, you think he doesn't want to leave?

I guess I've become skeptical. hopefully I'm wrong.

The Bengals have stability at coach. Unfortunately it is a bad stability.

It's not though..... The Bengals give fair contracts and pay out every dollar. They have a coach that apologizes for them. It's a good job. There are reasons why guys re-sign here when given the chance.

Only players who value having a coach who will not ride their ass. Players who want to win don't go to Cincy.

Are the Browns finally there?

They might have an elite defense and a great young QB.

Browns are now the favorite to win the division and to win the next playoff game by an AFC North team.
The Bengals are projected to go 2-14.

I do think the Browns are finally trending upward. I'm a big Mayfield fan.... I think he is the real deal and will easily be the best qb from this class. If they can keep themselves from blowing shit up or making some other weird Cleveland mistakes, they have the makings of a team up there.
