after all the game 1 hype after the pick 6, he has looked like an average rookie at best.

I realize the book is not out on him, but he looked like an amateur compared to Baker.

I called it. Two reasons why:

1) He is a USC QB. They have a tendency to be overrated coming in and shitting the bed in the NFL.

2) When there are brights lights. He doesn't show. Watch the game vs Nd

It's his 3rd game in. At this point in their careers Ryan Leaf had a winning record and Peyton was 0-3 with 2 TD's and 8 INT's.

At this point Mark Sanchez was 3-0 with an 88 QB rating and Stafford was 1-2 with a 57 QB rating.

3rd game wasn't that awful. Both picks were trying to make plays late to win.

Last week I thought he looked pretty good. Put Jets in a position to make a huge comeback. Unfortunately for them, Miami ran out the last 6 minutes of the game.

He's keeping them competitive and not looking completely lost.

1) Not really, if they've produced 4 first round quarterbacks since the start of the BCS era, 1 shat the bed, 1 had a career, 1 had a long and successful career. The 4th (Darnold) is a couple games in. How does that compare to first round quarterbacks in general?

2) Watch the game at Washington and the bowl game vs Penn State.

He'll most likely peak in his mid 30's.

Not too concerned with what he does as a rookie game to game. Taking hits and getting back up is top priority right now.

Cleveland has more talent and was playing at home, they needed to win tonight.

Honestly, you can toss away the rookie season of just about anyone drafted Top Ten.

The team that took them isn't good in the first place.

Or you could watch the year prior where he carried the team to a dominating win over the playoff Huskies or carried them into a Rose Bowl. It's not a coincidence that with Darnold $C was a top 15 team yet without him they are contender in the MWC. The USC teams he played on had 1/10 the talent Leinhart and Sanchez had (which are the only real $C busts)

He looks exactly the same as he did in college. Semi-mobile, semi-accurate, careless with the ball. Defenses are faster in the NFL, so it's going to get worse before it gets better.

Jets should give him 3 full seasons before making judgement on him.

depends. Do they want to win? Then I agree. Do they want him to get game speed experience? Then he should be out there.

They aren't good enough to win, so let him have trial by fire. If he is so mentally fragile that some losses will ruin him, then he isn't franchise material to begin with.

When it comes to point 1, I got to call bull shit. Palmer was very very good. Cassel has some good years. Other QBs from there have been crap, but most QBs drafted are crap. You can say that about almost any college.
