Too add to the problem is possibly RW and Shotty not being on the same page. On break at work earlier I read that RW was checking out of the play calls and he did it again the play before the pick 6 when PC called a TO. RW seemed to be pissed about that TO and of course coming out of the TO was a rush for 1yd then bam pick 6 next play.

I think the Hawks should do what ever they can to abuse the Cowboys Safetys, make them look down right awful. Scheme it up to make it look like a HUGE need then after the game say "Hey we got a quick fix for you for a 2nd and 4th, it's called Earl Thomas"

If the Hawks ( 0-2 ) can just flat out abuse the Cowboys middle ( 1-1 ) and get a nice blow out victory i can see them over reacting because we have seen it before.

NO WAIT ...better idea. Earl + Ifedi for a 2nd and their Starting RT
I was thinking that if the Seahawks fall to 0-3, they might revisit the 2nd rounder Dallas offered. I wouldn't mind Dallas adding a 4th or 5th in 2020, just can't go a 1st and pay him too. Adding ET and getting David Irving back would make our D salty

Yep, and I would bet just about anything that the line is going to look a lot better when not facing Von Miller or Khalil Mack on Sunday. We'll suddenly look quite a bit better at home, and maybe with both Wagner and KJ back.

Not sure if it has been pointed out already yet, but the Cowboys have a pretty solid pass rush themselves. Over two weeks in 2018 the Cowboys defense is putting up a sack on 11.3% of opponents' drop backs. That's 2nd best in the NFL. Oh, and Demarcus Lawrence has 12.5 sacks over his last 9 games.

Not going to get any easier on Sunday against the Cowboys.

If the Seahawks start off 0-3; I don't really see a reason to hold on to Earl anymore. He's not happy with the franchise, and as of right now I'd be absolutely stunned if he re-signed.

I'd love to see him retire a Seahawk, but I don't think he wants to be here anymore.

Not sure how much though... We did lose 5 games at home last year...
My point is that home crowd is an advantage for the defense, which was against us vs Von Miller & Mack but will not be vs Lawrence.

Look, I'm not saying Dallas doesn't have a good pass rush. I'm also not saying Lawrence isn't really good. They just don't have any individual player that can dominate a game and win pretty much every 1 on 1 matchup like Von Miller and Khalil Mack can and did at times these first 2 games.

The team holds the hammer. They just franchise him.

He still could hold out, but I see your point.

On the bright side, I genuinely do think Earl Thomas can maintain playing at an elite level for another 2-3 years. Despite holding out he has played really well this season. PFF has him rated as their #1 safety through 2 games so far this year.

Obviously we don't know what his contract demands are, and I don't feel optimistic he'd re-sign, but I honestly think the Seahawks would be better off trading him or working out a deal for him.

If they can get a 1 for him, deal him. Otherwise, franchise him. If what you say is true, and he can play for another 2-3 years, then even if this season is a write-off, having Earl on the team after another decent draft, and when all the cap money becomes available, would be a good thing.

What the Cowboys missed, is how that D of theirs could look with Earl erasing mistakes in the secondary.

I've been saying he needs to be resigned cause I believe he still has a few more years of top play and he'd be a great mentor for the young guys coming in. He retires a Hawk so it's a win win.

We list only four games at home last season, not five. Had wins against the 49ers, Colts, Texans and the Eagles at home last year

Seahawks fans should be pointing the finger at the front office along PC since he's heavily involved in roster decisions.

If you have a franchise QB you really should never need to rebuild but just retool and refresh the roster every so often. The only reason the hawks are in rebuild mode is years of subpar drafting, a couple questionable trades of valuable draft assets, and being guilty of trying to keep that SB window open a little longer than they should've.

Off the top of my head I can't think of a pro bowler they've drafted in recent years outside of Lockett who went just as a STer.

It's baffling why they didn't take the Cowboys 2nd for ET. When you're a rebuilding team low on draft capital it makes no sense to not take a pick for a guy that isn't going to be the difference between a SB win or not and you don't plan on keeping beyond the season. Now if they extend him or still wind up with a 2nd for ET at the trade deadline it's another story but if they wind up keeping him and just getting a comp pick than that will be a complete blunder on the FO's part.

They plan on keeping him if some team doesn't blow them away with a trade deal.

So no, not really baffling at all.

I don't know who is going to win Sunday, but the Cowboys front 7 is every bit as good as Denver and Chicago
Didn't look like it to me.

But as I was saying, playing home vs road and not against the likes of Von Miller or Khalil Mack does matter. Lawrence was a non-factor, don't remember him doing much of anything.

I'll give you the home/road thing, but saying Lawrence is not in the discussion with Miller/Mack is more opinion than anything based in fact, from my vantage point. Whether you're using old fashioned stats (sacks, pressures, etc.) or new-age grading systems (PFF, etc.) he's absolutely right there in the conversation with Mack, Miller and Bosa as one of the premier pass rushers in football.

Lawrence not having as much impact as Miller/Mack probably has more to do with playing over Brown instead of Ifedi than anything else.

Vander Esch is going to be a star IMO. As with Lawrence, I'm biased (collegiate-related), but he was a monster in college. His game against Oregon last year was insane.

And saying he is in the discussion is just opinion as well -- one that I don't think a whole lot of people would share with you.
