Scary part is Belichick is 6-9 vs the AFCE w/o Brady as Pats HC . He would be with his boy Chip Kelly at UCLA if Bledsoe didn't go down and had another 5-11 type season like 2000. 0-2 to start 2001 wasn't looking good for William B.

On a good note Pats with Brady are .833 vs the NFCN and better than that vs the AFCN
Belichick at UCLA instead of with the Pats?

I think I just found closure on the Tuck rule. Definitely prefer UCLA sticking to being a basketball school

Must have been Bradys 145 yards that won that first SB, or his massive tackling ability that shut down some of the most unstoppable offenses of all time in the Rams and Peyton's Colts multiple times, and who could forget all those miraculous kicks he made, and the amazing play Tom made to step in front of that Russel Wilson play to win that SB, he really bailed out Malcolm butler who threw 2 awful picks that fine day

It sure wasn't Bill's 5-13 coaching. Sure Pats had a very good D first few years and Brady was more of a game manager at first, and didn't make the huge T/O's. You never hear me break Eli's balls for the little he did, but just like Brady, he marched the team downfield for the win, but sure both D's were the reason they won

Well I'm hoping Chip would get him a gig there or he could always be HC at Navy like his old man.

Brady didn't "game manage" very long. His 1st full year as a starter he was 3rd in pass attempts (More than Favre or Peyton) and led the league in TD's.

My attempt at a point was if the Pats didn't play in a shit division where they had the division wrapped up by late November then had to beat some shit wild card team before actually playing one tough game to reach a Super Bowl things might be dimfrint!

Since 2001, best record by any team vs. the NFC, NE at .794 win % (pace for 12.7 wins a year) Next closest, GB at .694. NE win % is .813 vs. the NFCE by the way in that time.

Best record vs. AFC North in that time.... NE at .806. Lets put it this way. NE has played 66 fewer games than the Browns in that division, but has 4 more wins.

Vs. AFC South, NE at .788

Vs. AFC West .699 (4th in NFL better than any AFC west team in their division)

VS AFC East, .779.

Yes, NE has a better record against the NFC, The AFC South, and the AFC North than it's own AFC East division.

In that time span, NE has won 63% of it's games vs. playoff teams. The only team in the league to be over .500 against playoff teams.

We already knew this.

See Matt Cassell
Good point, largest drop off of passing TD's year to year in NFL HISTORY right there.

Only reason Pats haven't made the playoffs 15 straight years... Cassell.

Got out of NE and a couple years later threw more TD's and less INT's without a Moss/Welker Duo.

And look at Belichick without Brady. He's almost .500 in NE now when Brady isn't his starter!

Mangini with the Jets.....oh fuck...

Don't forget Rob Ryan with the Saints Defense... Oops...

Ummm, Daboll as OC in Cleveland... I mean Miami... I mean KC... I mean now back in Buffalo. (seriously has been an O-cord 5 years. his teams scoring were 29, 31, 20, 32, and currently 31).

Jeff Davidson in Carolina? (the year they finished dead last in Yards and points offensively and were able to get the pick to draft Cam was his last as an OCORD).

Mangurian in ATL?

Uggh, hows Patricia doing this year, at least it's too early for him to be failing... lol

Can you imagine how good he'd be if he could just get some of these guys to get off his ball bag?

Scary isn't it.

Brady win % is 77.8%

Ups to 80.8% when facing the AFCN.

And 81.3% when facing the NFCE

The two best divisions he wins against.

It's expected his win % to be lower inside his division. Divisional games are always the toughest games even if the three other franchise have been mostly mediocre.

Maybe... I am curious...

Seattle has won 62% of its games in that time vs. the NFC West.
Seattle has won 57% of their games overall

Better in division.

Just pulling a team from each division since 2001 that would be considered at the top in record overall in that time span.

Packers better vs. division than rest of NFL.
Saints Identical (comes down to a single win changes it one way or the other).
Eagles better against division than rest of NFL.
Denver better vs. division than rest of nfl.
Steelers better vs. Division than rest of NFL.
Colts better vs. division than rest of NFL.

I guess I don't see that trend happening here, but instead the opposite. And when you said that I really did think "yeah that makes sense".
