Mid to late September thru Thanksgiving tends to be ideal golf weather in GA so I expect to log several more rounds but YTD I was reflecting on my season thus far (28+ rounds).

My best hole...kind of lucky, but it counted. Par 4 18th, home course. This is one of the tougher par 4 holes you will play...420 yds, but plays uphill so actual is closer to 430-435. I hit into the fairway bunker on the left....still 200+ away with the ball sitting down a little, maybe 20% of the ball in the sand

I'm basically conceding that I'm not going to get there so while the group ahead was still on the green I go ahead and hit my 3h not thinking I'm going to get near the green....well I did. Flushed it somehow and it landed about 20 yds short but rolled up on the green. After driving up and apologizing for hitting into them, the guys said no problem, great shot from that bunker. Now about 35' down hill breaking right to left...I drop the putt for birdie! I'm been playing this course for nearly 20 yrs...I can count on one hand how many birdies I've seen on 18 much less me making birdie.

The worst...same course #8, driveable par 4...plays 270-275 most of the time...250ish to the front...with a 2 shot lead...I drive the green (actually about 2' short), but putting from off the fringe...from that position I putt it off the green, chipped back on and 3 putted for a 6. Not the worse score I've posted, but that was the worst hole I've played all season.

Any notables for you?

260 out, tucked pin, 5 mph headwind, i pull back the 8 snap it at the top, pinch it at the bottom, hit a snap hook fade draw, right at the pin. 1 hops past the hole then backs up...in the hole!!!!!.....:heh:

My best shot came in a league match. Playing this really nice dude for the first time and we were both 20ft off the green on the par 5 13th in four. It's a very undulated green and we both have a large mound to pitch over. He flops a high 60 right into the hole for par. Then, next to play I flop a high 60 right into the hole. It was a fun high five~

best…532 yrd par5, smoked the drive and had somewhere around 190 yards left, smoked a 4 iron to within 25 ft of the hole, lipped out the eagle and finished with a tap-in birdie.

RWAK SOLID!

worst…hit 3 balls OB and missed everything else, recorded a 9 (highest we all will record on a card) and ended up with a 12 (or more).

I made a hole in one where I timed the windmill just right for my best shot.

I needed like 7 shots to make one hole when I played the bounce wrong and ended up behind some pirates treasure for the worst.

All took place in Pigeon Forge, TN.

The point was that it was fun to sink shots consecutively with someone who has an intellect, a decent game and a cooperative demeanor instead of an asshole like you.

My best and worst came on the same 9. Got it to -3 on the back 9 of Sawgrass from the tips through 15. Bomb a drive on 16 and got 235 left with wind in the face. Hit 3 wood to a front right pin, if any of you know 16 on that course you have to carry water to get to that pin. Drops 5 yards right of the green in the water. Go double, bogey, bogey to finish +1.

Tough game man....still 1 over from the tips at TPC Sawgrass is golfing your ball!

Never played it, but a guy in our group played it LY...said it was nice, 80s player...on 17 he hit the green and made par, but could easily see how the hole could be so intimidated with the mounds loaded with people and no bail out.

Holes 16-18 is one of the best 3 hole stretches in golf you’ll ever play. And for whatever reason I’ve owned those holes, something about them just gets my adrenaline going. Most notably I finished birdie, birdie, birdie on those three years ago. Up until this year I had a streak of three birdies in a row on #17 itself. What makes 17 so hard though is the wind over that water always swirls. It makes you second guess every club. Then you get confused as to hit it hard or soft? So it’s a complete mind fuck and great golf hole.

17...Love the hole, I've played a replica of it, (supposedly the exact topo and distance of the original) but I think #17 is too exposed to weather for it to be at the end of the round in such a big event.

Love the hole too. It’s short enough though that’s it’s not unfair IMO. But it really makes you think hard and have to commit to what type of shot you’re trying to hit. I can’t imagine on Sunday what it’s like hitting that shot if you’re in contention.

It's a thrilling hole...if it was surrounded by sand, it would be a joke with a wedge in hand for touring pros.

I guess my issue with the hole is it's placement among the 18...you can definitely lose the tournament on that hole, but not likely to win it with a birdie (unless the pin is in the front so they can use the backstop)....just no time to recover if you botch it up.

I think 12 at AN is my favorite short hole on tour. You have a short iron in hand, you have a bailout, but 3 is a hard number on Sunday.

#12 at Augusta is arguably the best par 3 in the world. Same concept as 17 going over water and tough to judge distance because of wind, but 12 is even harder to hit because of the narrow hour glass green. I’d agree that’s my favorite too. Just not as fun to watch but a better hole.

#4 today. I normally hit with a 3 wood from the blue tee box to avoid the water but figured I would grab the driver and try to make it over.

Nope. Lost the first ball in the water.

Went back to my bag and grabbed my 3 wood for a mulligan and was right on target just short of the water.

Second shot with a 4-iron I hit really fat. a huge divot went flying about 20 feet and my ball went bouncing down the fairway and into the water.

Dropped and swung again pulled the ball to the left in the deep rough.

First swing from the rough sent the ball straight into a tree and it ricocheted back about 5 feet from where it was when I hit it. Second swing from the rough and the tall grass caught my club face just right and I ended up shanking it directly over to the right across the other end of the fairway under a bunch of trees.

Got lucky with a punch-shot and sent the ball low and out from under the trees and toward the green landing about 40 yards short.

Grabbed my wedge for an easy pitch onto the green but hit the ball thin and launched it over the green about equal distance away on the other side.

At this point I was about ready to quit and go home. Got the ball on the green. And took three putts to finish.

The next hole I was able to settle down and got a chip in for birdie.
