Lol at people that think Thomas isn't worth a 1st or even a 2nd.

He is a HOF safety with incredible range. Without him the LOB wasn't even a feasible concept.

I know that he is "old" (29 isn't old for a safety) and some injury concerns which is concerning because he game is predicated on speed. But his instincts are about the best I have ever seen.

We will see what happens but I think he is being severely under-rated in all of these trade discussions.

You aren't getting a 1st for a safety. Just not happening. I don't even want to give up a 2nd. Dallas isn't a SB contender with Earl so I say wait until the offseason and get him for no picks.

Imagine how much money Eric Reid would be making if he didn't support a cop-hating, Castro loving idiot like Kaep? He's only 26.

IDK, he would be better off than he is doing now but the Safety market is weak. He would still be in San Fran if he was worth that much.

If he was 26 or 27 he could've fetched a 1st rounder but at 29 he's not going to get better but start to decline and he does have some injury concerns.

Teams trading a player rarely get equal value for the player they are trading because they usually don't have a lot of leverage and teams really don't like to give up a valuable pick AND make a guy a top paid guy for his position.

So basically Cowboys get to keep their 2nd round pick for next year and they can sign during Free Agency......

Jerry finally wins a good deal!

Understand, but keep in mind, Earl would be like a road runner in your backfield, Cowboy's would be instantly upgraded with Earl ... He's got another good 3-4 years of football left... I hope Seattle just locks him up at some point...
I agree that he has another 3-4 years...but you can't give up a 1st AND pay him at 30. Just can't

3-4 and 30 are all fine if the contract is right but the guarantee money is the sticky mess
And a 2nd is quality compensation Seattle was greedy as is their right
No harm no foul football starts tomorrow finally

Except that they will probably tag him if they can't work out a deal.

It's not just the draft pick, it is also the salary cap space he demands. He is over-valuing himself.

If we can carry about $15M cap space forward to next year where we already have a lot of room, gonna be real easy to front load a contract for Earl.

I think he knows that if he hits FA he will lose a lot of money. IF he can get a team to drop a pick for him then he gets more leverage, they want to keep him around after paying that pick.

Thomas ends holdout; Seattle nixes trade bid

I see more locker room issues returning for Seattle this year. Earl on his twitter account pointed out "The disrespect won't be forgotten".

If Seattle struggles in the least I see multiple "hamstring" injuries for Earl this season. Maybe even if they don't struggle. ET is not a happy camper as he sat by watching others get paid, injured or traded over the past couple seasons.

Now for a more serious response. Oh FFS. If Earl was that kind of guy, he'd have show it long before now. He's a pro's pro. Never been anything but a leader, both on and off the field.

Try and think it through? Instead of just starting with...'Huh, I wonder what would fuck Seattle sideways the worst?' and going from there.

OK because you say so.

Feel free and bookmark this and we can revisit. Of course I'll say his mysterious turf toe or hamstring isn't a real injury just ET leveraging his next move. You and others will claim it isn't made up it's real...

Answer me just this one question. How much of a pro was he when he went running into the Cowboys locker room asking for a job?

Try to think it through.

I have always liked ET and have said so numerous times on here. I believe he is a leader but don't kid yourself this is about money and disrespect. ET was all in when it was the LOB they were building. Once that crumbled ET wanted out.

I think Seattle was dumb not to take that 2nd rounder which will likely be a mid 2nd.

But hey those rose/emerald glasses look cool anyway. Keep wearing them.

Big surprise, you think Seattle should have done something different than what they did.

And from Texas, life-long Cowboys fan, he got caught up in the moment. BFD. It's like he got caught fucking everyone's sister.

And no, won't be bookmarking the page, I don't take you seriously enough for that.
