The Detroit Pistons plan to interview TNT analyst and former NBA champion Kenny Smith for the franchise’s head coaching job, league sources tell Yahoo.

If that happens i'm looking for a new team to root for.

What good is new coaching if you have no talent on the team? Even Rick pitino who’s probably the most brilliant coach I’ve ever seen couldn’t coach the Celtics to shit. If you don’t have talent on the team you don’t have talent

We have the talent, it's just the injuries and SVG's bad coaching that derailed a playoff experience for the last 2 years. Definitely have the talent of a top 4 seed in the east. Need a coach that can take us to the next level and a lot of luck with injuries because we can't afford depth.

I don't think that SVG was driving the players to hard, leading to more injuries. I only have a suspicion of slightly less effectiveness in the medical staff after Arnie left. The sad reality is that injuries happen, and are even more likely when you acquire oft injured players like Griffin.

I am hoping we can be healthy next season and fight for a top 4 spot. If we are still doomed by the injury bug, then it will be time to sell all our assets for future potential and tank for a decade or three.

Hiring former players with zero coaching experience is a tip-top move!

It's happened before with success but I want no part of Kenny Smith. Rather have Juwan Howard
