Oh I think that rumor has already been shot down, several players said the same thing. No this was a power struggle IMO and the little shit with the poor draft record won out, which is why I remain so bitter.

Let me ask you this...is it or is it not true, that Bruce Allen had final say over the moves that Scott McCloughan ultimately made? Thought I had read a story or three about Scott role being that of a glorified scout.

i would say if sm said yes on move then the coaches say yes then allen says yes but if sm says yes coaches say no allen has to choose between coaches or sm

That's not what Bruce Allen has said on multiple occasions. He, BA, has maintained that he had final say so on all personnel decisions. But at least he got the Schreff pick right. An pro bowl offensive lineman. Good pick.

At the time of the drafts and FA SM took all the credit and heat. Gruden had no say in the picks and that was shown in his press conference. IF was SM who gave KC the tag. He is on record saying prove it to me that last year wasn't a fluke. I love how everyone forgets this.

I didn't think SM deserved to be fired but he didn't do well in FA or the drafts. I would say average at best. People on here claiming he is responsible for our recent success is just false.

Another point. If you are happy with Scherff right now over Williams or Beasley that is your issue. When was the last time a OG was taken top 5 over a elite pass rusher and a do it all 3-4 De? That is like passing on Garrett and taking Lamp in this draft. Well Scherff made the Pro Bowl so that solves everything right? lol.
