Who are the people helping Morgan and Carol? Were they in the comic?

Scott Gimple's new nickname:

Bloody Camera

I wonder how the feck did Scott Gimple and Greg Nicotero and Denise Huth all sign off on the blood spatter camera lens idea for two consecutive episodes? Did all three of them really think that was a good idea?

:L

Pretty sure the blood splatter is supposed to give it the comic book-y feel of the comic series the show is based on. For whatever reason, it seemed important to them to give it a comic book feel for the endings of the last two shows.

I am sticking with Abraham. He is already dead in the comics, biggest threat if I am Negan, and he is getting way to hopeful.

I actually enjoyed most of that episode. Do I wish we got to see who gets beat? Sure! But I'm sure they knew to leave their audience wanting more and I bet the season 7 premiere ratings will be as high as ever. It will be interesting to see how they promote it though since you'd think they'll have to leave any new footage of all those characters out of it.

Really surprised Rick let Car go along instead of leaving him to protect Judith and the rest of them. There was no indication that Carl told Gabriel or anyone that Enid was trapped in the closet, but he must have right? Otherwise he really didn't think that through very well if he was trying to protect her.

Some of the Carol and Morgan stuff was boring and dragged on a bit. As predictable as it was, it was cool to see Morgan kill to save Carol. I'm interested to find out more about these new people they met up with. Going on horseback and wearing armor seems like a good way to live in a post-apocalyptic world.

I think it was the most important character, that being said it was Aaron. Just kidding, the only one who actively looked like he wanted to die was Abraham. So he's my #1 pick for the "taking it like a champ" sweepstakes.

Besides, how's he gonna make a black ginger baby with Sasha?

Who are the people helping Morgan and Carol? Were they in the comic?

You were right, Morgan unloaded a clip into a guy lol.

If it is a "main" character, I would have to bet on Abraham also. All of his talk about wanting to have a family and his recent showing of his "softer" side seems to indicate to me that he is in line for a killin.

.......or, in that vein, it could be Sasha but I am guessing that Abraham would have thrown a fit if that was to happen.

Probably Aaron though. It would a be a cheap-assed manuver to come back next season and have it be a character that literally no one cares about.

Oh boy, this would be almost interesting if I didn't see an interview with a certain person before I even started watching the show that mentioned how their character gets killed via a baseball bat in the comics. Maybe they change the character, IDK. Either way the person who died IS going to be revealed before the next season. Just how it is these days, which is why this kind of a cliff hanger is pointless. As soon as they started drawing everything out with that stupid-ass "Eeny meeny miny mo" bullshit I knew they weren't going to reveal who died. Stupid.

I stand behind the fact that the cliffhanger was totally foreseeable by short-sighted studio execs.

However, all that build up without the payoff leaves me feeling kinda empty. As BD has said numerous times, why break up the most dramatic moment of the series with a 7 month break? That just doesn't make sense.

And I just don't get that we went through this entire season without losing a single major character. We only lost 2 named characters, actually. Deanna and Denise. That's it. Good season, but how is that possible?

Expected cliff-hanger. Still kinda lame.

I am going with Abe or Eugene. Eugene giving Rick the bullet recipe is almost too obvious. Or is it..?

I guess I will put my money on Abraham.

Or not.

I thought the episode was pretty good, personally. The whistling, fucking Trevor, the being led through a maze, I thought it worked pretty well. Negan was executed great (save for the lack of "fucks"). I was ready, and then THAT. GOD DAMMIT that ticks me off.

It's honestly probably some contractual bullshit where they couldn't decide who they wanted to kill yet, so this buys them some time to decide. FUCK.

It's also probably a way for people to keep the conversation going through the off-season. Which is fucking stupid because it's already one of the biggest shows on TV and they don't need to do that. FUCK!

I'll still watch next season. Damn it.

It was Abraham. As soon as he talked making babies & changing & such I knew he was dying. Then when Negan says he takes it like a champ, Definitely knew it was him.
Ok there is like a 2% chance it was Eugene, since 100% certainty freaks people out, but it was Abraham.

I get people being pissed off by the cliff hanger, but not one mention of how those of you that read the comics and already knew who was playing negan thought he did in that role. Did that scene live up to your expectation outside of the repeat blood spatter and (predictable) cliff hanger?

We all knew Daryl was still alive as he even said he'd be ok as he shot him last week and I'm sure everyone thought the'd leave us hanging on who was going to get beat to death.

Still, it was a fairly well acted scene IMO. Even the look on Rick's face.

People will be speculating over who got killed the entire off season. It's lame, but it works. Formulaic for sure and yet anyone who has watched it this far isn't going to tune out because of it next year.

You know, I might have to back off Abraham because when he stuck his chin out to Negan when he turned to him he said "gotta shave the shit" or something, meaning he sees a man like Abraham as valuable to him. He most likely went for someone weak, because as he said, he doesn't want to kill his employees. So Glen, Rosita, Maggie, Eugene or Aaron. If it's someone we don't give a shit about then it's Aaron.

Still, the cliffhanger takes away from the moment. I hope they get a lot of backlash for that. They tried to save it with the first-person perspective but that just made it feel more fake. Looked like a video game. Especially since they've never even used first-person before. Only way they rectify it even a little bit is if they show the whole thing in the first scene next season, even then it's still deflating.

I actually expected Rick to be more angry than broken. He's been through all this shit, killed all these people, and now he's crying?
