But when a guy like Bryce Harper becomes a FA at 25 years old, they better be in on a guy like that

If that kid continues to preform like this and hits free agency, he'll get north of $40MM per season. Probably be baseball's first $400MM player. Crazy shit.

I was surprised they didn't get Price as well. Tulo is a dick and it was wise to pass on him.

I would trade any prospect for an established pitcher like Price. Way too many top prospects produce fuckall in the majors. Now, if I couldn't extend Price at the time of trade, I wouldn't give up a top prospect for just a rental.

I'm not much of a Tulo fan myself. I think he's about as overrated as they come(and soft). That said, he would have been a piece that could have really helped the Yankees down the stretch(on paper anyway).

He's soft as fuck. Breaks every season. I wouldn't have given up shit for him because he was already over his quota for games played in 2015, so the DL trip was just a matter of time.

Severino is the real deal.........His stuff is just outstanding...Outside of a few BP appearances, Joba and Hughes never actually showed the stuff Severino has...They were more hype before their arrival than anything.......As far as Tulo and Price, Im sure Cashman would have preferred they landed elsewhere, but there was really not much he could do about that

I've been really impressed with Severino. I've only seen him 2-3x, but he looked nasty every time. I can understand why they would want to hold onto him. As for Joba, I think you are forgetting what he was when he first came up! Do I need to remind you of the Joba Rules?

Since the CC contract, the Yankees have been steadfast in their refusal to hand out long term deals to pitchers, and it seems they are serious about it.....

Are you sure about that?

Yankees Sign Masahiro Tanaka

The Yankees today officially announced that they've signed the Japanese righty to a seven-year contract that is reportedly worth a massive $155MM.

I believe that was the sticking point....Since the CC contract, the Yankees have been steadfast in their refusal to hand out long term deals to pitchers, and it seems they are serious about it......I think if they felt they were going to or wanted to sign Price Long Term, they would have surrendered the prospects......And as Chappee said, it would have been a done deal if it was still Georges' Yankees....Hal is not his father, its quite obvious the Yanks do business differently these days.....Doesnt bother me so much YET......But when a guy like Bryce Harper becomes a FA at 25 years old, they better be in on a guy like that

Hamels or Price might have made the Yankees the team to beat this year. I was just surprised to see them not go all-in this year and add some pieces.

And, I can only imagine what that next Harper contract is going to look like! YIKES!

Arietta is right there. I think it's between Kershaw and Arietta, actually.

Arietta for sure is in there. I was interested in the Greinke/Kershaw deal from a Dodgers fan's perspective.

ESPN's CY Predictor has it as Arietta, Greinke then Kershaw.

I'm a fan of Kershaw. I think Greinke is a walking penis.

Nobody seems to like Greinke! Great pitcher, though. I would go Kershaw-Arietta-Greinke, but I could see how any combo of those guys could work.

I'm down for Arrieta. Really carrying a third-place team.
