Unfortunately for Davis and Gilbert, they just don't have the experience or enough demonstrated talent to be a quality backup or a viable No. 2 at this point in either of their careers.

Rams will be shopping at the very least for a quality backup for Hill if not a better option than Hill to start.

I know this is a shot in the dark but the Rams should go after Connor Shaw from the Browns - he's only going to be a third QB there at best right now and he looked pretty good in that last preseason game - at the very least it gives them a young QB that they might be able to develop

Been a Rams fan since 1967 and this is a pretty low moments for all of us. But Hill is a veteran and can win game. He has some people around him now. I am sad for Sam. He had some great talent. But the Rams paid him well and he will be fine. I think his career is done....maybe a backup one day. But this is it....
